Tee Stevenson reviewed: Beginners Ring Wax Carving Workshop

"I was gifted this workshop by my husband and it did not disappoint! On arrival Emily made me feel very welcome and showed me around the Colour Factory. It was wonderful to see and understand the Colour Factory set up. Emily's style of teaching is laid back yet very informative and explanatory. She is truly passionate about her craft. I really felt at ease in her company. I've done various creative courses and this was one of the most enjoyable 1 to 1 workshops I have attended. Emily makes you feel relaxed enough to really enjoy the process and I loved using the simple tools to create a wax ring. I'm so pleased with what I have made so far and can't wait to see the finished ring. I'd fully recommend Emily's wax ring workshop."

The Metalsmith responded:

"Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm so pleased that you had such a wonderful time, and that my love of the craft was reflected in the workshop! Can't wait to see your finished ring! It's going to look great!"

Louise Martin reviewed: Learn To Crochet with Lamb In The Loft

"What a fab time tonight! Really lovely space and the tutor was friendly, patient and encouraging. I was a total novice so learning a bit of theory basics before getting into the practical work was welcome. I was nervous at first and thought that I’d never be able to get it but after lots of encouragement I got there! Was a great evening, I’ve learnt the basics but definitely need lots more practice and probably a bit tuition but loads of progress in 2 hours. Felt like I’ve achieved something with a lovely friendly tutor! The fact the classes help pay for the room that supports people facing mental health challenges is just an extra bonus. Please support this lovely lady! I had a lovely time. "

Alex reviewed: Axe / Hammer Forging Day

"Highly recommend this course. It's very full on, a lot to take in for one day, but Alex guided us well and is very personable, friendly, knowledgeable, and created a comfortable, supportive environment. As a senior female, being treated exactly the same as everyone else was much appreciated. We all made knives, including the handle, and there is nothing like the feeling you get from creating something. This was one of the best birthday presents I've ever had, and I'm sorely tempted to try the Damascus knife making weekend, or another knife making day. "

Julian Fonseca reviewed: Mig Welding For Beginners Introductory Day Course.

"Tony is an excellent teacher and the one to one tuition was great it allowed me to work at my own pace with lots of instructional demonstrations and advice along the way. By the end of the day I felt confident enough to start undertaking small projects that I’d often thought about but didn’t feel that I had enough ability to tackle. It was a very enjoyable and constructive day and would highly recommend Tony’s course to anyone wishing to learn mig welding. "

Matthew Evans reviewed: One day blacksmithing course in West Wales

"This was without a doubt one of if not the best experiences i have had. Aaron was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. what meant a to lot to me was that you were shown what to do and then Aaron just let you get on with it, nothing better than hands on experience. I will absolutely be doing the next course they offer. Thank you Aaron for a fantastic day."

A and T Petersen Ltd responded:

"Thank you so much for your fantastic review! We are delighted that you enjoyed the course and we'd love to have you back."

Joan reviewed: Paper Flower Kit - Cosmos. Papercraft kit for women. A creative gift idea.

"I have not made the flowers yet. I was expecting a better quality of crepe paper, not the coarse stuff that is provided. I bet the flowers in the illustration are not made with that crepe paper. However, the assembly instructions seem comprehensive and clear. "

Bergin & Bath responded:

"Hi Joan, the paper we use in our kits is 180gsm Italian crepe paper, it does feel naturally quiet course, this means there is enough 'stretch' in the paper to shape the petals and once the flowers are made they will hold their shape. The flowers in the listing shots are made with the same paper. I'm sure when you make the flowers you will see this is the case."

Peter and Sarah reviewed: Glass blowing course - taster

"We really loved the glass blowing experience. The instructors were both very friendly and welcoming and really let us decide the pace and direction of our little glassblowing projects. They gave us nice clear instructions and helped us understand the processes we were performing to work the glass. When things went wrong they were clear and kind in their explanations about what went wrong so we were able to learn. When one of our pieces broke in the annealer, they made the effort to help us remake it so one of us didn’t lose out on having something to show for our efforts. Even so we ended up with four lovely pieces which we got to choose the design and colours of ourselves, rather than just making the same things as everyone else. We are certainly keen to return and learn more!"

Chew Valley HandMade Glass responded:

"Thank you both for your review, it was a pleasure to work with you to create some lovely glass pieces. So glad you enjoyed your time with us, look forward to seeing you in the future. Regards Steve and Angie "
