Alison reviewed: Papercutting Workshop - Framed hare in Wheat

"I really enjoyed the afternoon. Stacey was attentive and super organised. However I felt that there could have been more of an overview of the craft at the start (hints and tips) and some guidance on framing as I wasn’t ready to frame in the session. Delicious cakes halfway through, which were very welcome!"

Bev Hopcutt reviewed: Gelli Plate Printing Workshop by Clare Cosens

"Thoroughly enjoyed this workshop which was my introduction to Gelli plate printing. Clare was a very effective teacher, demonstrating the printing techniques and then letting the students experiment making their own prints. The small group size of 4 allowed individual tuition and feedback. Felt I learnt enough to enable me to try Gelli printing on my own, but will definitely book on another course with Clare to develop my skills.. Thank you Clare for scheduling the workshop to suit our availability. I highly recommend Clare’s workshop. "

Clare Cosens Designs responded:

"Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. I'm so pleased that you enjoyed the workshop. Your Gelli prints looked fantastic!"

Samantha Chambers reviewed: Introduction to Green Woodworking

"I gifted the Introduction to Green Woodworking course as a Christmas present for my dad and we had a fantastic day (1st March). Matt is an excellent teacher, very patient, good at explaining and answered every question we had (and we were not shy in asking) and has an admirable and inspiring approach to conservation. Effortlessly approachable and keenly observant, offering tips to make your efforts more efficient (& staying safe). It was also simply a lovely place to spend the day, sat around a gentle fire to take the winter chill off, whilst surrounded by the woodland. The site setup had everything needed; toilets, shelter, campfire and constant flow of tea. Keen to go back to level up our newly acquired skills. Strongly recommend!"

Manor Wood responded:

"Hi Samantha, thank you for the lovely review. It was lovely to have you all at Manor Wood, so glad you enjoyed the day. Matt"

Gill reviewed: It’s only natural - creating small wire sculpture in Derbyshire

"Such a fantastic day for so many reasons. The Slipper Studio is such a beautiful setting to become creative with wire and to be encouraged and guided by Liz, who was so inspirational and fun to learn from. I would thoroughly recommend Liz and her courses, not forgetting her chocolate biscuits and Derbyshire tea! Thankyou so much Liz "

Jenny Shadforth reviewed: Peak Blacksmithing Experience days

"Absolutely fantastic day making a bottle opener with Jessica and Tim. I got to do all of the process myself so it is a real sense of achievement. Each step of the process was demonstrated in small chunks before going away to apply it and they were both on hand to help and to correct my technique if I was going wrong. Looking after our own forge fire for the day made it a complete "day in the life" experience. Peak Blacksmithing is a really lovely environment to have a go at a new skill and something I thoroughly recommend. "

Martin Douglas reviewed: Box making weekend in Cumbria

"Have just completed the two day box making course with Mark. It was a Xmas present from my sons, and I’ve been eagerly looking forward to attending. It didn’t disappoint, we were taken through all the steps to making our boxes, from choosing the style of box, picking the wood, cutting and assembling the parts before applying the surface finishes. Mark expertly guided us through each of the stages and how to safely use the various woodworking tools. The two days were extremely enjoyable and all the finished boxes came out really well. I was pleasantly surprised with what I was able to produce over the weekend and can highly recommend Mark’s courses."

Tamar A reviewed: Silk Painting a Scarf or Chinese fan: all welcome

"This was my first try at silk painting. Steph gave enough instruction and direction to teach the skills needed, while giving enough space for creative expression and fluidity, resulting in everyone making something entirely unique. I really enjoyed experimenting with different techniques and came away with a painting I’m proud enough to place on my wall! The location was stunning and the refreshments were great, a highly recommended afternoon of relaxation, skill-building and creative flow."

Strawberry Moon responded:

"Thank you, Tamar. I loved your piece and the vibrant colors you used. I hope that you can come again and we can try some more techniques. "

Pauline Fillery reviewed: Fused glass workshop - Plymouth

"Sheena was extremely friendly and welcoming. A group of 6 ladies enjoying a relaxed 3 hours of conversation, whilst creating fused glass pieces. Cake & drinks at half time. Sheena's craft shack was cozy and warm, with plenty of inspiration all around. The sun outside was illuminating her glasswork & there was plenty of it for inspiration. There was a choice of projects to create, along with Sheena's experience, help & guidance to teach technique and how glass fusing works. I will be back! Thank you for a lovely day."

"My partner and I did the two-hour mono screenprinting workshop with Kami and absolutely loved it. We learned so much and such a short space of time. Kami is a welcoming, friendly and knowledable host. The environment is supportive, creative and beautifully informal. If you are looking for a gift for someone or fancy a go yourself, we would thoroughly recommend this interesting, informative and creative experience, which is also tremendous value-for-money. Thank you again!"

Mya Designs responded:

"Thanks for an amazing review, Colin and Claire. What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon, being creative together, as your anniversary gift followed by a yummy meal in a lovely country pub. It was great to see you developing your own layout onto fabrics and they looked great. Claire what a lovely idea to create a softer texture for your yellow moon, it's really effective. I hope your friends enjoy the hand pulled gifts you made for them too. I hope to see you again in the future if you ever want to try a different craft with me. Take care :)"
