Sue reviewed: Introduction to Inkle Loom Weaving Workshop, Salisbury

"Had a great day learning on the Inkle Loom with Ellie and 7 others at Fisherton Mill in Salisbury. Ellie is a very good teacher and supplies all you need to make a band of your choice. I learnt how to design and choose my colours plus learning about different fibres to use. Ellie is very ‘hands on’ and there was plenty of time for her to help all the students when needed. We received a great hand out and were able to take home our newly made bands. Thoroughly enjoyed and recommend."

Elka responded:

"Thank you so much for the lovely review Sue. It was a pleasure to meet you and i'm delighted that you enjoyed the day. You weaving was beautiful!"

"My daughter and I had a wonderful day doing this course. The venue is pleasant and rural in Northamptonshire. Our tutor was extremely knowledgeable and helpful , making sure that all our questions - e.g. (what if??) were answered patiently! We were taught several different raku techniques and everyone ended up with 3 pots of different shapes and the most amazing decoration. I cant wait to go on another raku course at this venue! "

Kevin and Abi reviewed: Pottery Weekend in Whitby

"We were surprised at being the only two on the course but glad we were as we felt we had Nic all to ourselves and she was great! Nic is obviously passionate about clay. We were “thrown” in, straight onto the wheel , very exciting, and soon had something recognisable, Nic demonstrated and advised while we had fun and got clay everywhere. The day went really quickly lunch was great a lovely vegetarian spread. By the end of day one we had created a lot of masterpieces! Day two was different techniques but still a chance to play on the wheel making a plate and trimming yesterdays pieces. I have really enjoyed this course i would recommend it to any one. I went with my grand daughter age 13 she said “It was great. Nic was nice and patient. Knew exactly what she was doing. Lunch was tasty! Wish we had longer so could have kept learning”. Between us i think we made 18 different items. Nic helped us with painting on colours , and she will do the glazing and firing but the firing of the clay will have to wait a few weeks, so something to look forward to. A great 2 days with a patient caring and knowledgeable tutor. Thanks Nic"
