Colin Jaycocks reviewed: Willow obelisk workshop

"Wonderful day, lots of fun, good instruction and plentiful materials. Had never done anything like it before, but with patient guidance acheived a great outcome. Fabulous lunch provided, along with copious tea and coffee. Good workshop area, although dry weather meant we could work outside in a very attractive garden, which enhanced an already lovely ambience. Would/will sign up for other courses or sessions."

JMeader reviewed: Stone carving for beginners - Weymouth

"We had a great experience on this course. John is an excellent teacher, patient and very clear explaining the different techniques. The course is run in beautiful surroundings, overlooking Weymouth bay. I would strongly recommend this course, even to people who don’t think they have any skills in this area - I didn’t and surprised myself at the quality of what I made in just one day."

Sculptor John Davey responded:

"Many thanks Jenny and Tony. I had a great day teaching you both. You both showed a lot of patience and attention to detail. Bravo. Great sculptures."

Rowland Hughes reviewed: Two day wood carving course at Middleton Hall

"I attended the carving course at Middleton Hall. The course was excellent. I can speak highly of the tutor who was knowledgeable and helpful and explained clearly the stages of our carving. I have only one other comment. The weather was fine and sunny, was there a contingency plan for heavy rain? "

Haile Reed reviewed: Ecodyeing - a full day introduction to leaves, rust, heat and fabric alchemy!

" We had a wonderful day learning the foundations of botanical printing on various fabrics using felt, silk noil, paper, and silk to start our botanical printing projects. Judy's knowledge and eagerness to share is inspiring, and she ensures you leave the course feeling confident to create independently. The course is packed with information and fantastic value for money. Creating beautiful botanical silk scarves and printing on felt, silk noils, and paper, all of which you can take home for gifting, wearing, designing and crafting, was inspiring. I am excited to begin experimenting with these techniques at home. Thank you, Judy!"

Judy P. dye - print - weave responded:

"Haile, thankyou, everyones results were great weren't they? I am so pleased you enjoyed your day and look forward to seeing you again for more techniques. Judy "

Mel H. reviewed: Stonecarving Weekend, Gloucestershire Cotswolds

"Had a great weekend learning how to carve stone under Sebastian's guidance. Was a relaxing weekend. For me the first day was harder removing all the excess material, and on the second day was able finess the shape. Sebastian was a good tutor, relaxed and giving the right amount of guidance while you were free to make your sculpture. Would definitely recommend, and two days is an absolute must, particularly if you want something three dimensional."

"Brilliant course, I did it with my mother in law and we both want to come back and do another one. Melanie is a great teacher and kept us plied with cups of tea and cake, and it was really fun making the birds. I love my birds - I think it’s impossible to make fused glass that doesn’t look beautiful. "

Carol Mason reviewed: Seaglass jewellery workshop at Sea & Solder, Dorset.

"I've never attempted to make jewellery before and, with a slight paralysis in my left hand, was a little concerned I wouldn't be up to the job. However, I needn't have worried. The uber talented Jules is the most patient of teachers who instils confidence right from the start and you just know, no matter how many attempts you have at mucking your piece up, she will be able to come to your rescue and you will leave her workshop with a piece you are proud of - in fact she would not have it any other way. The classes are small to allow plenty of time for you to learn and achieve without feeling rushed. This was my first class with Jules - and my first ever jewellery making class - it won't be my last. Oh, and she has loads of beautiful jewellery on display, not only to give you inspiration but which is also available for her pupils to buy at a discount if they wish - I challenge anyone to resist!"

Jo reviewed: Ecodyeing - a full day introduction to leaves, rust, heat and fabric alchemy!

"I really enjoyed my day with Judy which resulted in me taking home 2 long silk scarves and other items all uniquely printed with leaves and flora gathered from Judy's extensive garden and some bought from my own. Judy was a encyclopaedia of information which is followed up by reams of written notes sent after the workshop. Judy guided us through experimenting with different materials and products which gave a variety of results - all glorious! I've never tried this art before and just love the alchemy. I thoroughly recommend this workshop. Thank you Judy xxx"

Judy P. dye - print - weave responded:

"Thanks Jo. I’m delighted that you enjoyed the day, and you produced beautiful fabrics and papers. I know you will continue - and would love to see what you achieve! Judy "

Gill Moody reviewed: Spoon carving at Walderchain Wood, Canterbury

"Spent a memorable day with Mark being taught how to carve a spoon. Our group varied in experience from none at all to using an axe to chop kindling - we were soon all handling a carving axe with confidence and ever improving skill thanks to Mark’s great teaching. Lunch was delicious and a sociable event providing a welcome break from our creative endeavours! We all left with a spoon - all different designs - but most importantly with a sense of achievement and a day well spent in a glorious environment. Now to return for the next level course or maybe the bowl carving in the autumn. Wondering if you should have a go at spoon carving with Mark - just do it! Great day - thankyou Mark."

Walderchain Wood responded:

"Gill Thank you for your review of the day. Glad you enjoyed the day. Hopefully see you here on another class. ATB Mark and Cristina (and Alfred and Ruby)"

Yvette reviewed: Knitting workshops in Leeds City Centre

"I really enjoyed my time with Ann. The knitting session was held at a lovely cafe in the wonderful and well lit Grand Arcade next door to The Grand in Leeds. I had recently picked up knitting and I’d got into a muddle with a few things so I booked a session with Ann who immediately spotted where I was going wrong. I’m now onto a flying start. "

Leeds Central Faith and Light responded:

"I'm so glad you enjoyed your session and found it useful. All you need now is practice!!! Keep up the good work. Kind regards Ann"
