"From the moment we arrived, to the minute we left, Clare made the experience very enjoyable. Kept us watered and fed with refreshments. The course itself was easy to follow, guided by Clare’s experienced hands and knowledge. Diane reviewed: Beginner's Candle Making Private Workshop - Marlow, Buckinghamshire

"This is a beginners' course and yet by the end, we had all made a wide range of candles using different techniques, learnt about the different waxes, scents, colours and much more. Sarah is an excellent teacher, and took all ten of us through the processes step by step. Although every minute of the 3 hours was utilised (lots of concentration needed!) , it was also relaxed. A very professional approach, thank you Sarah!"

Guy Wilcock reviewed: Fused Glass Lanterns with Crafts in the Valley

"We absolutely loved this course! Melanie is so friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable in the art of glass fusing as well as other art and craft techniques. We had a fantastic and relaxing Sunday morning course and the time flew as we were enjoying every minute. Melanie provided brilliant advice to get the best out of our session whilst also keeping us topped up with endless fresh coffee and other goodies. As we lived quite far away Melanie also offered to send our fused glass items onto us (paid registered post by us obviously) which was another lovely gesture. The postie delivered our items this morning and we sat in bed opening each item like it was Christmas again! We put our lanterns together, added candles and now waiting till the evening to get their full effects. Will definitely look to come again!!!"

Judith Rowe reviewed: Crafty Basketry's Hedgerow Basket Making for Beginners/Improvers - Day Course at Cowshed Workshop, Tenterden

"The weekend course with Marianne at Cowshed was a pleasure right from the beginning, with a warm and friendly welcome in a magical environment. Marianne is a calm and caring teacher, overflowing with enthusiasm for her craft and very much wanting to share her knowledge and experience. Somehow she was able to be there for all of us, patiently assisting at the right moment and in the right way. Although there are a lot of stages to learn, and the thumbs have to get used to working hard, it was a relaxing atmosphere in which we shared that particular kind of rippling conversation that happens when all are engaged physically and mentally. I’ve always felts that baskets are low priced…and now I really know they are, and have a deepened appreciation for the skill and time needed to make them. We all came away happy with the baskets we had created, and each of us looking forward to making the next one!"

Crafty Basketry responded:

"Hi Judith, Thank you so much for your review. You were a lovely, charming student and it was great to get to know you a little better. I think we all made new friends that day, didn't we?! Hope to see you again soon at one of my other courses and in your shop of course, "Made" in Hastings. All the very best, Marianne Crafty Basketry"

"I thoroughly enjoyed my glass painting day, there was a good mix of delegates and everyone’s skill set was addressed perfectly. The right amount of people attending meant we all had an opportunity to receive personal tuition if required. The pace was relaxed and I felt a lot of technical information was relayed throughout the day, all of which meant I came away with a great knowledge base, digital course notes have underpinned this. Great value for money in a wonderful creative environment. Special thanks to Derek’s wife for the hospitality we received."
