Angela Clark (for Andrew and Maxx) reviewed: Knife making weekend Gloucestershire

"We booked this course because of the rave reviews. They are ALL true! Feedback from the 16 year old (birthday gift) included enthusiastic statements like "best birthday ever" and "you'll never top this one mum" If you know teenagers, this is POWERFUL and POSITIVE feedback! Feedback from the 53 year who was the plus one and not all that keen included surprised and enthusiastic statements like "excellent course, well taught, knowledgeable teacher" Both have left feeling very confident with the skills learned, and having arrived home now after a 2 hr drive back, I have to mention that they've already ordered sharpening stones and metal!! I can see they'll be practicing more knife making in the near future. THANK YOU for this amazing experience. Mum of the Year goes to ME for booking :) Hooray!"

Nailsworth Community Workshop responded:

"Dear Angela, thank you very much for this feedback; I’m delighted that your son had exactly the kind of experience I aim to facilitate. They’ve done so well, and it was a particular pleasure to have father and son working and learning side by side. I hope they’ll continue with Knife-making and Knife -use over time, and please feel free to be in touch if they need any help and advice. And finally, thank you for your booking; I often find that behind a new knife there is a generous person who gifted the course to their loved ones. Thanks Angela."

"Course Date 2/4/2022 Bought my mum as a present for Mothers' Day and we both had an amazing morning, time flew. We were both complete beginners and both left with a piece of art. Barbara explained clearly what we needed to, was quickly there when we needed a hand and made us feel very welcome. Would recommend this course and will be looking at others that Barbara leads."

Joy Rattray reviewed: Birds on a wire - creating small sculptures in Derbyshire

"Thank you so much for your hospitality, patience, knowledge and friendliness Liz. It was another fabulous workshop. Thoroughly enjoyed the day and built on the skills I acquired at a previous session in the studio. The day was extremely well planned and paced and I came away with three pieces of completed work and heaps of inspiration and ideas for future artworks. Looking forward to signing up for another course with you - maybe Lino printing or paper sculpture next time."

It was lovely working with you again, seeing your work develop throughout the workshop and sharing your day. Time to crack on with your stock of wire and create the 70th Birthday gift you spoke of; I’m sure they’d love a handcrafted gift from you. Hope to see you later in the year. Best wishes Liz Wellby"

John Webb reviewed: Stained glass introduction at Blue Kite Stained Glass

"I was the only person on this course so got Ian's personal attention. Ian gave a good introduction including history of stained glass and was able to give me some information about a sample I brought with me. Use of materials and tools was well explained and demonstration was followed by hands on practice by myself and development of my project piece which I think turned out quite well. I can thoroughly recommend this course and Ian's friendly and supportive style of instruction."

Blue Kite Stained Glass responded:

"Thanks John, glad you enjoyed it, those promised sheets of follow up info are on their way, check your email. Iain"

Phillip Reygate reviewed: Key skills for converting vans into campervans 1 day course

"My daughter and I attended the one day camper van conversion course run by Scott. The day was fantastic and I highly recommend it to anyone thinking of carrying out a van conversion. Scott emphasises the importance of planing the van to suit the owner and points out simple to make but costly mistakes to avoid. We learnt about lining the walls and ceiling, installing water and electric systems as well as heating. A look around Scott’s daughters van conversion helped us to understand the systems that we’d learnt about earlier in the day. The amount of knowledge that Scott has on the subject has inspired my daughter and given her the confidence to make a start which she hopes to do very soon. We both found it a very informative and enjoyable day with the added bonus of homemade chocolate cake from Scott’s wife Sue. Thanks again and good to meet you all."

Black Paw upcycle project responded:

"Hi Phillip thank you for such a great review . im so grad you found it useful. and I will let Sue know you liked the cake"

Patricia Lynch reviewed: Wood Carving Course

"It was very absorbing. I had not done this before. Peter was very helpful and gave good explanations. Time flew by. We made a flower first, step by step, to grasp the techniques. Then in the afternoon we selected a bigger plaque to carve from Pete's selection of template s, eg leaves, animals, Celtic knotwork. There was not enough time to fully complete the second project but we were advised of the tools we could get to complete it. Lovely setting and the food from the cafe was good."
