Fused Glass Lanterns with Crafts in the Valley

X

Description

Crafts in the Valley. Make a beautiful fused glass lantern with Crafts in the Valley. These workshops run on set days in the morning (9.30am - 12.30 pm) or the afternoon (2pm - 5pm). You may be tempted to stay all day, and take part in one of my other fused glass classes too, see my other listing for details. In the fused glass lantern workshop, you will then experiment with a range of materials and techniques to decorate four glass panels. Once decorated, the glass panels will be fired in the kiln and fitted back into your lantern. The lanterns look lovely lit up with candles or LED fairy lights. In the studio you will have access to an exciting range of top quality materials and equipment: coloured frit powders, bubbles powder, metal for entrapment, jewels, stringers, dichroic glass, stencils and much more! As an extra treat you will also make a set of dichroic glass jewellery. Two pieces of jewellery; you can choose to make pendants, earrings, brooches, key-rings, cufflinks or rings. Your glass work will be fired and ready to collect 1-2 weeks later. If you are unable to collect your lantern, packaging and postage costs £15. This workshop is ideal for those who fancy a relaxing creative experience where you will be introduced to the wonderful world of glass. This workshop is very suitable for beginners and creative children 8+ (if accompanied by a participating adult). I offer these workshops to individuals and small groups, they are designed for art and craft lovers, beginners or experienced crafters, and for those who simply want to enjoy a creative day out. The workshops have proved popular with mothers and daughters, couples, families and friends who wish to spend some quality creative time together. Lots of participants come on their own and enjoying meeting friendly, new people. The workshops are run from my light and airy studio in the rural setting of Cragg Vale, Mytholmroyd, the neighbouring town to Hebden Bridge in the Calder Valley. The Calder Valley is a great place to visit or make a weekend of it if you are travelling far. Hebden Bridge is a quirky town filled with independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. It is well known for its exciting art, craft and alternative music scene. It is also a great place if you enjoy nature, walking and exploring the countryside.
