Susan VANNER reviewed: Sculpture workshop two days with Jo Garden Art in beautiful rural Norfolk/Suffolk border setting

"25/26th March 22 What a fantastic 2 days I’ve had. The most wonderful setting for just doing your project with Jo’s sculpture’s dotted around the grounds, as if you needed more encouragement! Jo is so enthusiastic and encouraging, she is with you every step of the way. This is the second two day workshop I have done, the first being a leaping hare, he sits in my garden quite happily but now this time I’ve done ‘The Lady’ she is a metre high and I’m so proud of her. It was a lovely group of 4 of us all doing different things and Jo was at our side every step of the way, what more could you want! WILL be coming again. Thank you so much xx"

Jo Garden Art responded:

"Thank you Susan ? It was wonderful having you back in the studio again. 'The Lady' evolved over the two days from a piece of angle iron into a sassy woman. You made everything from the curvaceous body through to the hat and garments finished in bronze and brilliant blue. Fabulous! Now what will be next ...... ? Jo x"

Siân reviewed: Two day clay animal sculpture course

"Fab day, helped further by the weather so that we could be outside in the sunshine under gazebos. Miranda came round with helpful hints and I think we all produced something to be proud of. I had time to do another small sculpture as well. I do hope that they survive the firing process, I was so pleased with them!"

Amerton Arts Studio responded:

"So glad you enjoyed the day Sian, thanks for the review. Miranda"

Greg reviewed: Introduction to spooncarving at Hill End

"What a brilliant day. I had some previous experience of green wood working and David was able to take what I knew and explain the processes for spoon making. We were a group of varied experiences and David and his wife took their time to answer questions and guide us all through the process. The day went by in a flash and I thoroughly enjoyed it. This was a Christmas gift voucher from my wife and it was a brilliant gift idea."

David Knight Woodland Crafts responded:

"Hi Greg, I’m so pleased you enjoyed the day and thanks for giving something to the whole group through your shave horse demonstration! It was great to see you build on the knowledge you already have and I hope you’ll add spoon carving to your other green woodworking activities. All best David"

Alex reviewed: Blacksmithing for Beginners - Full Day Forging for One

"Had a great day with Chris in his workshop. The day was well structed, fun and very well aimed at beginners in smithing. Chris himself is very knowledgeable and approachable and was fantastic at point out details and best practices as I went about the day's tasks. Highly recommended for anyone who has an interest in smithing and metal working or just looking for a fun day trying something new. Chris keeps things very easy to understand and lighthearted but keeps you engaged with the work and safe at all times. I cannot recommend this course enough, great day and you get to keep what you make :)"

Gill Kirkwood reviewed: Lampworking Workshop: Half Day Beginners Workshop

"I attended the workshop with a friend and neither of us had any experience of glass bead making, so were a little apprehensive. However, Suzanne was brilliant, very friendly, professional and taught us so many different techniques that we were amazed just how many beads we created. Suzanne has a multitude of coloured glass rods to choose from so we were able to be as creative as we liked. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day, challenging at times but very rewarding and I would recommend to anyone - thank you Suzanne."

Suzanne Jewellery responded:

"Thank you Gill for taking the time to write such a lovely review. I am so pleased you both enjoyed your workshop. Suzanne x"

"Fabulous day all round. Dave is obviously a master craftsman who loves his work and takes a massive pride in everything he does. I learned so much about knife making but also about casting resin. He produces some beautiful pieces. Doing courses such as this gives you the opportunity to use equipment you would probably never have at home, with the confidence of expert guidance, ensuring your safety at all times.. Highly recommended."

Candy Greatbanks reviewed: Beginners Silver Jewellery Course

"A really enjoyable day with Mark in his garden workshop, making a silver ring and 2 sets of earrings. We were allowed to get stuck in and to use a variety of tools, with good instruction throughout. There are endless choices on what you can make and Mark helped our whacky ideas come to life. You will get excited to see your jewelry taking shape and times flies! We took a packed lunch and it was nice to sit outside in the sunshine and have a chat mid way through the course. Mark was relaxed, friendly and a good tutor. I would happily recommend this course."

Dandelion Silver responded:

"Thank you Candy, I’m so pleased you and your mum enjoyed your day. Was lovely to meet you both. Hope to see you again sometime soon Mark"

Shelley & Tim reviewed: Candlemaking at Larkswold (2pm-5pm)

"My boyfriend surprised me with a candle making course the day before my 40th birthday and we both thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The setting is beautiful; the creative hub is in the garden over looked a lovely meadow with ducks running around. We were treated to selection of cakes and drinks to start with. The instructions were clear and the atmosphere very friendly and relaxed, which was perfect. We then worked at our own pace to make four candles each, and finished the day off with a glass of bubbles and more cake! Thank you for a lovely afternoon, and we are already planning our next workshop! Very best wishes, Shelley and Tim"

Lynne and Paul reviewed: 1hr Potter's Wheel Heskin, Chorley

"Bought for my husband as a birthday present but I wasn’t going to miss out on all the fun. We tried using the potter’s wheel and it was such great fun, you absolutely must give it a try. It certainly gives us new respect for the talented people on the Pottery Throw-down programme; which is what inspired us to book the hour’s session. Can’t wait to go back to glaze our dishes. Special thanks to our teacher, Hannah, who was so charming and enthusiastic."

The Crafty potter responded:

"We cant wait for you to come back & glaze them- was lovely having you in the studio. Thank you for your lovely review. See you soon Sharon"

Claire Weaver reviewed: Make a set of stacking rings: an afternoon workshop with Hampshire School of Jewellery

"We had the best time making the stack of 3 rings. Laura was very methodical and clear with her instructions and the lesson flowed easily with everyone busy and no one waiting for tools, equipment or help. I bought this as a present for a friend and she was over the moon with her rings and the experience in general. I think we may be back to try our hand at something else!"

Hampshire School of Jewellery responded:

"Thank you for your lovely review and feedback Claire. I am so pleased you both enjoyed the class and hope you both enjoy wearing your rings :-) Hopefully see you in another class soon. Laura"

"What a fantastic four days of painting in Jill's beautiful studio. She made us feel so welcome and relaxed. I was amazed at what I was able to achieve in that time and my family have been most impressed with my 2 paintings. Jill encourages one with such positivity and I learnt so much in the 4 days. It was full of fun, laughter and music. The lunches that come with the whole day courses are a real homemade treat even the bread rolls which are made by her lovely husband. Jill goes out of her way to make sure you are welcomed and happy. I loved every minute of it and I will definitely be returning. Thank you Jill"
