Paul Thatcher reviewed: One student - full day 6 hours , Welded Dragon fly . Introduction to artistic welding metal sculpture with Roger Russell

"I found this day course really useful. As someone new to welding my aims for the course were to gain a basic understanding of welding techniques and equipment, and equally importantly for me, an understanding of the processes used to take an idea from concept to reality. Roger took me through the basics of MIG, Arc and TIG welding, sufficient for me to have the confidence to develop my interest further. As a teacher Roger was patient, shared his experience with enthusiasm, and was happy to be diverted to discuss some of the other tooling and techniques he uses to create his art. All in all an enjoyable and valuable day - thanks Roger "

Lauren Urquhart reviewed: Jewellery design workshop - silver pendant or silver earrings

"I absolutely loved our silver earrings workshop with Sheila! She was so supportive throughout and gave us the confidence to get stuck into the process and try out various techniques, always explaining each step clearly. All of our earring designs were totally different to each others, but turned out equally fabulous and the big reveal coming out of the silver cleaner was very exciting. Thank you so much Sheila, I can’t recommend your workshops enough and hope to come back soon for another. :) "

Vickie reviewed: Green Man stone carving in Yorkshire

"I really enjoyed this course. The teacher was excellent with a thorough knowledge of the subject. She was patient and happy to offer extra guidance if needed. As a wheelchair user I was very impressed with the fact that she had thought about this in advance and allocated a space for me where I could safely leave my wheelchair. The tutor treated me with respect and the fact that I used a wheelchair wasn't a problem. I could navigate my way around the kitchen and venue easily in my wheelchair. I'd thoroughly recommend this course to anyone."

The West Riding Stonecarving Association responded:

"Thank you for your wonderful review Vickie. I am very pleased you enjoyed your visit to the workshop and also took home an excellent carving. Kind regards Helen "

Deb Adkins reviewed: Mosaic workshop at Jackie Nash Art

"I was lucky enough to receive a Craftcourse voucher as a gift for a milestone birthday last year and on checking out Jackie's mosaic course decided to give it a go! As a complete beginner I was a bit nervous but Jackie soon put me at my ease with her friendly and relaxed manner. I chose to decorate a mirror surround with mosaics and Jackie was very encouraging and positive about my design and colour scheme, showing me lots of coloured tiles from her vast stock. Six enjoyable hours soon passed (fuelled by many cups of tea and lovely home-made banana cake) and I learned a lot about the art of mosaic-making. Jackie is a very talented mosaic artist with many years of experience and I would highly recommend her workshop to anyone thinking about attending."

Jackie Nash Art responded:

"Thank you Deb for such a lovely review. I’m really glad you enjoyed the course and it was a pleasure helping you to make your mirror. I look forward to seeing a picture when it’s in situ. If you have any further Mosaic questions please get in touch. Best wishes Jackie "

Kate reviewed: Introduction to fused glass

"Me and my bestie did the intro to glass fusing at the weekend, neither of us had done it before but Katherine was really helpful, explained everything and gave us some ideas to get going. In no time we had a design going and were on a roll, we totally zoned out and lost ourselves in the creativity. We had a great time, felt really at ease and excited to see our finished designs. I’ve booked to take my mum and niece and my best friend is looking to take her sister and her daughters. Great afternoon and great value for money. Thanks Katherine :-) "

number8glass responded:

"Thank you so much for the lovely review Kate and I really look forward to welcoming you back into the studio soon. "

Tim was friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable. I was completely at ease in the class and I went home with a kuksa bowl and a new hobby. I would 100% recommend this course."
