Tracy reviewed: Beginners Sewing - Day course - Get to know your sewing machine

"I was slightly nervous because I was such a novice that I had only fetched my sewing machine out of the box 2 days before the course but at least half the people on the course were as inexperienced as me. The course was well paced and there was plenty of help and individual instruction. I was actually very proud of the bag and cushion cover that I had managed to produce by the end of the day. I'd be the first to admit I have no natural talent and they weren't perfect to anyone who knew what they were doing but they were pretty good for my first attempt. Now it's practice, practice, practice before I go to the second day."

Sally Tabor reviewed: Beginners 1-day 1-2-1 pottery / ceramics workshop for 1 person

"Fabulous Louise took on the challenge of a very ambitious project accepting me and my ideas. Being a very long time since I'd touched pottery clay, I was very excited to give it a go. My project brief was to produce a dinner service for 12 including large plates, side plates plus bowls... A 2 day workshop as a Christmas present given to me by my wonderful Darren. Think I might have bitten off more than I can chew and will be a tad longer to complete, whoops!!! However Louise is extremely patient and explained the techniques in a very clear and thorough way. Louise makes you feel at home and encourages you all the way. Just a few more days to go Louise..tee hee!!! "

Blended Monkey - pottery - woodturning - green woodworking - pole lathe - throwing responded:

"Thank you for the lovely review Sally! It was a delight having you in the studio and I look forward to part 2 next week where you'll be making the side plates and continuing with your throwing journey :-). "

Trish Irvine reviewed: Mosaic taster session @ White Stones Studios

"I am now totally hooked on mosaic work, after spending a very informative and inspiring day in David’s studio. The time flew by and by the end of it we had achieved a very satisfactory piece of work to hang on our walls. David was very helpful in the type of design to use for a beginner, in choosing colours and types of tiles. He showed us loads of examples of his work and gave us ideas for future work. The garden attached to the studio was delightful and was also a gallery of his beautiful work in mosaics. The cafe provided a lovely tasteful lunch, it was good to see so many people frequenting it, during these tight times. The course was money well spent and I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in learning the art of mosaic making. The journey to Portland is also a bonus, the views of the coastline were beautiful."

David Nicholls Art responded:

"Thanks for the great review Trish. It was a pleasure teaching you both and I wish you all the best with future mosaic projects 😀"
