Shaun Jacobs reviewed: Beginners 1-day 1-2-1 woodturning workshop for 1 person

"What a wonderful experience! A warm welcome from Louise & Simon before heading off into the workshop. Simon is an excellent tutor who knows his stuff & was able to teach with ease. The morning session was over in a flash followed by a lovely lunch. The afternoon session was over just as quick & surprised myself with the items I had made. The tooling & tuition notes were an added bonus. I will definitely be back for another course. Now off to find my local woodturners club."

Blended Monkey - pottery - woodturning - green woodworking - pole lathe - throwing responded:

"Hi Shaun, So glad you enjoyed the day and I hope the notes are useful. Might even see you at a local club sometime, whether that’s woodturning or archery 😉 — Simon"

Hayley reviewed: Printmaking - Screen Printing with Stencils

"Fantastic screen printing workshop! Kami was welcoming, encouraging, and extremely knowledgable. I wouldn’t hesitate to rebook this course as I know I’d learn something new every time. I’ve also never met Kami before, but it was like spending the morning with a friend. Would actually make a lovely Mother’s Day gift as Kami offers different types of workshops. Thanks again Kami, still inspired :) x"

Mya Designs responded:

"Hayley, thanks for coming to the workshop and a lovely review. When you came I could see that you had almost given up on screen printing so I'm glad we had a good chat to resolve some issues you were having. It was great to see your face light up with some successful prints and lots of practice. I hope it has inspired you to explore and continue making your own lovely designs come true. Take care :)"

Anne Atkinson reviewed: Flamework (Lampwork) - Making glass beads for beginners

"Brilliant lampwork class with Toni in Colchester. Well worth the longish drive. She took the time to give me an overview first, give me a rundown all the equipment we would be using, and provided a pair of tinted safety glasses to protect my eyes from potential bits of glass and glare. She demonstrated techniques before guiding me through each one and I have ended up with a collection of lovely glass beads and the information I need to set up my own small workshop! It was relatively tiring, but worth every minute! I LOVED it!"

Aaron reviewed: Damascus knife making in Grassington

"I have been wanting to forge my own knife for a long time and this year I was lucky enough to receive it as a Christmas present. Honestly one of the best presents I've ever had. Richard was such a great teacher, able to guide me through the entire process as well as excitedly talking about the theory of blacksmithing and forging. My knife is perfect, incredibly sharp and extremely pretty. I would 100% recommend this as a gift or if you want to try making something for yourself. "

"I was not very happy that we did not have an overhead projector which was really important for the lessons"

Amy C reviewed: Furniture upcycling workshop - 1 day

"Fully enjoyed the upcycling workshop with Hannah. It was a perfect set up with just a small group so everyone got as much help/attention as they required. It is something I have wanted to try for a while now, and I learnt so much from Hannah about prepping and painting etc. I was buzzing with my completed piece of furniture at the end! I have come away much more confident about having a go at doing something myself and putting everything I learnt into practice! :) Thanks Hannah x"

Steph Jackson reviewed: Introduction to herbal medicine - weekend courses

"My sister and I recently attended this course and had such a wonderful weekend. We learnt so much about the power of herbs and how to use them to enrich our lives. Rowan is a fantastic teacher, her informal workshop allowed us to learn so much in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We really enjoyed the practical aspect of how to make our ointments, creams and teas. Something we would definitely continue to do at home too. She has a beautiful garden where we were able to walk around and identify the plants we were talking about too. Looking forward to attending another course of Rowan's in the near future! "

Rowan Mconegal responded:

"Thanks for your lovely review Steph, your feedback is much appreciated, and I am so happy that you both enjoyed the weekend and plan to use the knowledge and experience in the future. I look forward to seeing you again, and meanwhile, Happy herbalising! "
