Cec reviewed: Get to know your sewing machine - North Devon

"Want to make blinds etc and never really learned how to use a sewing machine. So I have borrowed my mother-in-law's 1960s sewing machine. This didn't phase Alex at all, she checked it over and taught me all the basics... straight lines, riding over bulkier seams, even zips. Great confidence giver, I need to buy the fabric and get sewing now! Thanks Alex. "

Alex O'Hara's Quilts responded:

"It was lovely to meet you, I am glad you feel more confident. Happy sewing. Alex"

Nina reviewed: Woodland beauty taster- Creams, Balms, Body Butters

"I bought this as a mother's day present, and attended with my Mum. We had lots of fun and laughs, and came home with a wide selection of lovely products. I love to craft and make candles and soaps, with the knowledge this course has given me I'm confident I will be able to make some simple natural creams at home too. My Dad has very sensitive skin and found the creams we brought home to be very nice on his skin, as they are made from basic ingredients like natural oils and butters. We would love to come back for more!"

Workshops in the Woods responded:

"Hi Nina so glad you enjoyed it was lovely to meet you and mum-You made some amazing stuff In naughty corner! And mum really pulled off that last tricky cream amazingly so well done her. Glad dad likes the products and hopefully will see you again for another course soon kind regards Rachel "

Helen reviewed: Enamelling on Metal/Silver Clay

"Great experience from start to finish. Toni creates a very friendly, easygoing atmosphere. It was helpful to have a little prior experience, but all explanations were very clear, and group size was small, so Toni had time to help individually and answer any questions. Very happy with the results, too (and so is my daughter, who got a lovely pair of earrings out of my silver clay day :))."

Peter reviewed: Beginners 1-day 1-2-1 woodturning workshop for 1 person

"Upon arrival at Louise and Simon's home, I was greeted and put at ease immediately. Once in the workshop, coffee and biscuits were supplied by Louise. Simon and I spent a few minutes chatting about my experience in wood turning (which was none), he then explained the about wood grain (longitudinal and end), different tools and their uses and the safety aspects - personal protective equipment is provided. Simon then started the session with a demonstration, over to me this ended up by turning a length of square wood into a length of a wooden dowel, which eventually evolved to beads and curves. Simon is an excellent tutor knowing to provide advice and using his knowledge to step in and make minor adjustments then stepping back and leaving me to continue, then on to the first project the turning of a small wooden bird (a two piece penguin). After lunch that was a ploughman's style, on to the second project the turning of a bowl. Simon started this session explaining where to stand and the presentation of the tools to the wood. The end result was very pleasing. The day finished almost on time. Thank you very much Simon for your patience and time, I thoroughly enjoyed my time with you, wishing you both every success with Blended Monkey"

Blended Monkey - pottery - woodturning - green woodworking - pole lathe - throwing responded:

"Hi Peter, Thank you for such a heartwarming review. I wish you all the best in your woodturning endeavours. Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you need more help or advice. — Simon"
