Sarah J reviewed: Hare Sculpture workshop with Jo Garden Art in beautiful Norfolk/Suffolk

"Really fantastic day with Jo and Andy. Wasn’t sure how well I’d get on with making my hare but with Jo’s patient guidance and clear explanation, I ended up with a sculpture I’m really proud of! Jo doesn’t stint on materials and generously provided a little touch-up kit to bring home, which was fab. I’d thoroughly recommend the course and am planning on coming back with other friends soon! Thanks Jo - I loved it!"

Jo Garden Art responded:

"Thank you Sarah - a very enjoyable workshop and I'm so pleased you loved making your fabulous hare sculpture. I always hope people do not need the touch-up kit - but it's there just in case! Looking forward to seeing you again in the future, Jo x"

Anne Betteridge reviewed: Polytunnel grow your own: productive, organic, year round food growing

"Loved the course and learned lots about what I can grow in my polytunnel. Kim was really keen to make sure each of the attendees had their questions answered and she carefully tailored the day to suit us all. She packed a lot in and wanted to make sure that we found growing our own produce as efficient and as fun as possible. I will go on from here with renewed vigour but much less overwhelm! (She was also kind enough to make sure my dietary restrictions were dealt with.)"

Green Rocket Courses responded:

"Thank you Anne. That is great to hear you so enjoyed. It was lovely to meet. xx Kim "

Anne Patmore reviewed: Hare Sculpture workshop with Jo Garden Art in beautiful Norfolk/Suffolk

"Jo is amazing tutor (and I say that as an ex trainer myself!!). She is warm, friendly, informative and helpful. The studio is bright and airy and set in her lovely garden. She really does think of everything - even take home packs with information so you don't need to worry about taking notes on the day and can concentrate on 'hands-on' enjoyment. I had no experience of this craft and did not expect to achieve much - mainly booked for the fun and interest - but came away with a lovely hare that I am very proud of (and surprised by!). Lots of help and refreshments during the day and even two lovely cuddly dogs if you feel inclined to fuss furry friends! We can't wait to go back and take friends and family to future courses. "

Jo Garden Art responded:

"Thank you Anne - I very much appreciate your heart warming words about how I run the workshop. It's a pleasure having 'work' that brings enjoyment to others and is also such fun for myself. Looking forward to seeing you and your friends & family back in the studio. Jo xx"

Deirdre Tahany reviewed: Textile landscape workshop in Dorset

"A wonderful workshop with an inspirational artist. It was an awful day and we got a little lost. I rang Imogen who stood outside in the wind and rain directing us to The Old Forge. Her studio, in sharp contrast, was warm and cosy. Inspirational textile landscapes and still life compositions covered the walls. I am an indecisive ditherer which can be infuriating however Imogen remained positive and encouraging throughout. The day flew by and although my textile landscape is not finished, thanks to Imogen, I have a selection of fabrics and a clear vision. A 2 day workshop would have been wonderful! Completely forgot to mention the delicious Victoria Sandwich cake that Imogen baked. I would have no hesitation in recommending this workshop."

Imogen Bittner Studio responded:

"Thank you so much for that lovely review! The studio is always cosier in bad weather! I am really pleased you enjoyed the day and feel sure that you have the necessary skills to develop and continue your own work and to have a lot of fun hunting out fabrics in charity shops! I would love to see your finished piece- almost there but the final tweaks are always the most exciting to make. Thank you again for coming so far and making the day so enjoyable."

Lizzie Ward reviewed: Introduction to Lino Printing in Cambridgeshire

"Hmmm! What a treat to step out of a fast-paced life and into an oasis of creative calm with Judith at her kitchen-studio. Judith welcomed me into her home as an old friend and by the end of our Lino cutting day I felt as though I'd achieved something rather beautiful and enjoyed sparky conversation with the other participants on the course. I feel equipped with new tips and skills to have a go doing more at home and would definitely love to do another course with Judith. A great way to 'escape' without having to go far. "

print paper stitch experiences responded:

"Thank you for contributing to such a fun and buzzy day Lizzie. Your beautiful prints, and the ideas behind them, let us all escape momentarily to another place!"

George reviewed: Woodturning tuition in Wiltshire

"I attended Andy's course with my Dad as a joint Christmas present. We were (are?) both complete beginners, and Andy did a wonderful job of building up our understanding of wood turning from scratch. Andy takes you through the importance of sharpening your tools correctly, introduces the core techniques of spindle turning, and after lunch moves onto turning a bowl. In each section of the course he carefully explains the fundamentals of what you should be doing, and is always on hand to step in when you go off course (... often, in our case). If you want a comprehensive introduction to woodturning, this is the course for you - be ready to receive alot of information in a short space of time! Thank you Andy (and Mary and Angus) for giving us a memorable day out and proving a brilliant foundation in this skill. "

Andys woodworking responded:

"Thanks for your kind words George , you and dad we an absolute delight to teach and I’m looking forward to you coming again 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼"

Jenny Bartlett reviewed: One day fused glass course at North Norfolk Stained Glass

"I really enjoyed my fused glass experience with Paul. His teaching was very clear and he was very encouraging and helpful throughout the whole of the making process. Four of us attended the session and although we all started with the same basic design template we each created something unique and individual. A really absorbing and interesting day with a beautiful end product to take away and treasure."

Ian Heginbottom reviewed: Five day woodwork course - tools

"I am hoping to retire soon and looking for a potential new hobby. I signed up for the level 1 course having never had any previous woodwork tuition. The course far exceeded my expectations and has certainly inspired me, and given me the confidence, to take up woodwork at home. My project was to make a spinning stool. Mark and J are brilliant tutors. They create a very friendly and relaxed environment, and explain and demonstrate in detail the various techniques required, both for power and hand held tools. What I particularly enjoyed was that once explained they let you get on with work, keeping an eye on your progress and stepping in to help/advise only as necessary. I honestly couldn't believe the quality of the spinning stool I produced given my lack of previous experience. In addition to the practical tutoring, Mark gave a number of interesting talks, including about the various types of wood and their respective qualities, and what to look for when buying wood. The setting is lovely with open views across fields to the Lake District hills in the near distance. All in all I thoroughly recommend this excellent course for anyone interested in learning woodwork."

Sally reviewed: Hare Sculpture workshop with Jo Garden Art in beautiful Norfolk/Suffolk

"I have, over the years, had many workshop experiences but never one in the same league as Jo's Hare workshop. Every detail was perfect from the greeting we had on arriving to the regular drinks/chocolate offered throughout the day. The patience , artistry, and skills of Jo (and hubby Andy!) were evident on every single part of the process being meticulously explained and then shown - and she also gave "Paul Hollywood" hugs (so much nicer than a handshake!) I am so proud of my 'comical' hare which is sitting proudly in the front bay window - a truly brilliant day with great company - txu Jo and Andy"

Jo Garden Art responded:

"Thank you for such a lovely review Sally! You deserved every Hollywood Hug given 🙌😄. You upgraded to a large hare and made a fabulous job - creating a hare scratching her ear with the other ear flopped over the top. I mentioned one of our Cockapoo dogs often has a 'flopped' ear, so you named your hare after her - Mia! Great fun. Jo xx"
