John M reviewed: Arts 4 Well-being

"Mike ( the tutor) has been brilliant. Before I came I knew nothing about drawing. After half a dozen sessions I felt confident enough to display my work publicly during the North Bristol Arts Trail. I like to learn about perspective so when I am out and about walking, I can whip out the sketch book. I've surprised myself how far I've come."

"We had a fantastic day at John's studio. We attended for my hen do and John was very welcoming and patient with us. We learnt a lot of really good skills on the day including working with copper to hone our skills and then making some beautiful silver jewellery. It was lovely to take away some jewellery to remember the hen do that we all shared together. Would 100% recommend a course with John, you will have a fantastic day and enjoy making your own beautiful jewellery."

Claire Hart reviewed: Lampwork glass making workshop in Nottingham

"I had a lovely morning making beads. Rosie has an excellent knowledge of her craft and has a very friendly and relaxed teaching style. She explained clearly the safety measures needed for lampwork and I felt that her tutoring was very tailored to my needs and ability. I asked a lot of questions, which Rosie was happy to answer and I came away feeling confident to have a go at home (this was my second lampwork taster course). As with all good courses, the time went quickly, I learned a lot and I also made a number of pretty beads! I would definitely recommend this course :-)"

bden glass Ltd responded:

"Hi Claire, what can I say, you were an absolute pleasure to teach! Apart from the fact you let me 'geek out' about the processes and materials, you took Instruction very well. As I said, I would be happy to offer any help or advice in setting up your own lampworking space, and you're welcome back to my studio any time ?. Your beads look fab and will be on their way to you shortly! Thanks, Rosie"

James Inglis reviewed: Beginners 1-day 1-2-1 woodturning workshop for 1 person

"Although I'm not strictly a raw beginner, I found Simon's guidance and patience hugely helpful in my 'new' journey to 'unlearn' some poor practices and start to grow in this hobby. It is always a joy to work with an expert and the 1-to-1 setting was the best possible way allow a free flow of conversation and for me to get the most out of the day. Thanks to Louise and Simon for making me feel so welcome at their lovely home and workshops and for the excellent lunch we enjoyed in the impressive garden. There were also a lot of incidental tips that arose - such as the way Simon has arranged his workspace to accommodate machinery and people and to provide a safe and clean environment with powerful dust extraction and to the way his various tools are stored and easily located. It's made me want to rethink my own space radically. Overall, a great day that I cannot recommend highly enough."

Blended Monkey - pottery - woodturning - green woodworking - pole lathe - throwing responded:

"Hi James, Thanks for your praise - much appreciated and we're so happy you got so much out of the day. As promised, I added the extra equipment items to the standard documentation, so you should be able to source something fairly easily. If you have any questions or need any help in the future, please don't hesitate to get in touch and happy turning! -- Simon & Louise"

Cilla Sanders reviewed: Create a mosaic in a day in Yorkshire with professional mosaic artist Sue Kershaw

"I bought this mosaicing day for me and my sister in law for our special birthdays. It was such a lovely day! Right from the beginning Sue was so welcoming and explained things really well- she provided us with absolutely the right amount of information, in short sections throughout the day, to enable us to complete our mosaic tile. The venue was perfect in the lovely village of Huttons Ambo, with all the facilities that you might need- toilets, refreshments, the doors were open so lots of fresh air and the added plus of the lovely views. Oh and not forgetting the chilled out playlist! Sue really helped everyone throughout the day; helping us choose designs, demonstrating cutting, measuring, colours etc. I would definitely recommend this craft day!"

Sue Kershaw responded:

"Wow thank you for such a lovely review. It was such a pleasure meeting you both. I really enjoyed the day so much too. Wishing you best wishes. Sue"
