Jane Barnes reviewed: One day introduction to resin art

"Only working with small groups, Eunice is able to provide one to one help if and when it was needed.(it was!) Learning new techniques and skills can be daunting, but the demonstration was perfectly clear and paced and the layout of the studio and equipment created a great working environment and gave us confidence to have a go. I love working creatively alongside other people, something about positive energy always makes me happy and a good tutor can help nurture that, which Eunice certainly did."

Eunice J. Friend responded:

"Jane it was great to meet you. Thank you for your wonderful feedback, I am so glad you enjoyed the workshop. Many thank Eunice"

Carron reviewed: One day stained glass workshop London for beginners and enthusiasts

"My friend and I have just come back from a brilliant day learning this craft of copper foil stained glass, and could not be more pleased with our sun catchers. Tejal was an excellent teacher, demonstrating and explaining each stage of the process, allowing us to work at our own pace. We learnt so much and she has inspired us to be more creative, cannot wait to put all the hints and techniques into practice. Would definitely recommend this if you want to learn a new craft in a relaxed calm space - lovely studio Thanks Tejal for a fantastic day !!"

Ava B reviewed: Upcycling furniture & sustainability workshops

"I loved this course and I will definitely be continuing up-cycling in the future. I found the instructions clear and simple and easy to follow. All the tools and paints were provided so all you have to do is show up and get creative. You have complete creative control of what you do and have an extraordinary range of colours and stencils at your fingertips. Kirsty was helpful and happy to assist us in anyway and was always ready to offer tea and cakes. This is a perfect day out for all ages and I would definitely recommend it. I was extremely pleased with the final result and enjoyed a fun day out with great people."

Upcycle Arcade responded:

"Ava, what a lovely review! Thank you so much. I was quite blown away with your tropical bedside - it really was nothing like anything I'd seen before and was quite a work of furniture painting art. So impressive. It was a pleasure meeting you and your lovely Mum too. If you get a chance, I would love you to drop me a photo of your new furniture in situ. But no pressure of course. Once again, thank you so much for coming to the workshop. It was a joy."

"I am so glad I booked Audrey's mirror mosaic workshop. The location was nice and quiet, Audrey was super helpful and guided everyone through the process & made sure everyone was happy with what they were creating. Everyone was super excited to make their piece, and by the end everyone was thrilled with what they had created, & were already asking about future workshops. I had already booked a second workshop before attending this one, and I'm very excited to make more pieces, since the one I created turned out so great."

Melvyn Cole reviewed: Make a Welsh stick chair

"What a great experience! As a man that has tools, this course was an eye opener. Not only didn't I have any of the tools needed for this adventure in my own collection, I'd never heard of them either. This mattered not a jot, as Ben had all the tools necessary to hand craft a beautiful Welsh Stick Chair from, well, basically a laying down tree. All I had to do was provide the sweat. I had a great week with an amazing group of people and would certainly do it again. Highly recommended."

Alan Wilkes reviewed: Traditional Spoon Carving with David Alty: A 'Quirky Workshop' at Greystoke Craft Garden & Barns near Ullswater and The Lake District

"The Course organiser tested positive for Covid and did not give us the option to cancel. My wife and I decided that the risk to us was too great due to our age and medical conditions so we did not attend the course. This decision was also based on the fact that the organiser stated in the first email that she may be seen in the garden, and Covid is an airborne virus."

Quirky Workshops at Greystoke Craft Garden and Barns responded:

"For clarity, below is the email to all students which was sent two days before this outdoor Spoon Carving course took place on Thursday 23.June 22. All other students were delighted with the change of arrangments and had a wonderful day. In addition, according to latest Govt. 'Living with Covid' guidelines, and being on Day 8 of contracting the virus, having been asymptomatic throughout, I 'could have' already have been back on site and serving students and customers would have been none the wiser. However, there were due to be 8 students and 1 tutor on the spoon carving course, and we wanted to continue to 'do the right thing' for the safety of students, staff and tutors alike, and keep the workshop at distance at all times - even though it was actually taking place outside. Dear Spoon carvers, The owner of the venue which has organised your below Quirky Workshop (i.e. me) has unfortunately just recently tested positive for Covid. Despite this, we’re very happy to confirm that your spoon carving course with David is taking place in the Garden and will therefore be largely unaffected. However, we will need to make some changes to catering arrangements for the day, as we usually work out of our house kitchen and obviously this will now be closed. Therefore, we’re asking all students to bring their own lunch/ sandwich for their workshop day. We can provide tea/ instant coffee and milk and a kettle up in the studio – where there is also a sink. We will provide a £5 cash refund to each student on the day, to reflect this change. You might see me in the distance in the garden as you arrive, but I will stay away from you all and will use a separate entrance to the house so that you can safely use the loo. You may notice that some remnants from the Building work still in evidence… the forecast is wonderful so hopefully you will be able to sit outside and enjoy your lunch over the day! Thank you for your understanding and I look forward to giving you a brief wave on Thursday morning. Kind regards Annie"

Paul reviewed: Introduction to green woodworking at Sallerton Wood

"I would echo previous reviewers, I learnt a lot in a very relaxed atmosphere, in a truly lovely woodland area. Andy is a great teacher who is also an enthusiastic keeper of the woods. Facilities were great as was the simple lunch (and cakes) provided. I'd certainly recommend this day long course to anyone."

Sallerton Wood responded:

"Thanks, Paul for your positive review. We're very pleased that you enjoyed the course, and the woodland itself. Thanks for commenting on the lunch and cakes too! It would be good to see you back at Sallerton Wood on another course if you'd like to visit again sometime. "

Lloyd Evans reviewed: Beginners Pottery Day Course

"You will be amazed what you can produce in a single day. I had never sat at a potter's wheel but had always wanted to give it a go. I hinted at this course for a 'big' birthday present and so glad I did so. I arrived with absolutely no experience of working with clay but took home four pieces which I am quite honestly proud of. Matthew and Rachel have created a special environment. Go through their front door and marvel at the Potter's world within. Matthew led the course. Welcoming, encouraging and patient. The instruction and attention given to each of the four attendees was spot on. Just excellent!"

Dimbleby Ceramics - Studio Pottery Courses responded:

"Hi Lloyd, It was a pleasure to have you on the course and see you develop your skills on the wheel throughout the day. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of your experience, it really helps others who are looking at booking the course. Very best wishes Mathew"
