Lucy Tipper reviewed: An Introduction to Natural Dyeing with Starter Kit. A self-paced online course.

"Oh my goodness I loved this course. Although I have some experience working with natural pigments this course was awesome. So much information and technique packed into the content but at a pace that was so manageable. Natural Dyeing is a total art form and the tutor explained everything clearly and in a way that left me confident to experiment with different colour sources, fabrics and methods. I highly recommend, taking this journey into natural dyeing. "

Elka responded:

"Thank you so much Lucy for the wonderful review! I'm really hoping I can make it to one of your amazing courses this year Xx"

Lucy reviewed: Frame loom weaving: A comprehensive guide to becoming a weaver - a self-paced online course PLUS kit

"I have thoroughly enjoyed this weaving course. It was well laid out and explained. I loved how I could switch between video learning and written intructions for when you need a second way to explain a technique. Ellie is super clear and present each element at a pace that suited my brain. I was a total beginner at the start of this course and I have been left feeling capable of working on my own projects independently. Highly recommended, I loved it. Xx"

Elka responded:

"Thank you so much Lucy! I shall thoroughly look forward to following your weaving journey Xx"

Victoria Allison reviewed: 2 day felt Fedora hat course

"I recently attended the two days felt hat workshop and it was an amazing experience. Elena is a fantastic teacher and creative milliner, it was a pleasure to be trained by such an and talented and patient teacher! I learned about hat blocking, trimming, decorating, even brushing up on my skills using a sewing machine and much more. Elena took the course at my pace and tailored it to suit my needs and hat of my choice. One of the best courses i have taken and I absolutely loved it, I now feel that I have learnt enough to start making myself. I highly recommend this course "

"I thoroughly enjoyed this two day upholstery workshop. With Lucy's expert help and instruction I not only successfully reupholstered a dining room chair but now have the confidence and skills to reupholster 5 more to match. Although the process of working on our individual projects felt quite intense at times, the overall atmosphere was relaxed friendly and encouraging just when we needed it. Many thanks Lucy! "

Vicki Hook reviewed: Blacksmithing Experience in Grassington (3 hours)

"My 16 yr old has expressed an interest in Blacksmithing and after a rather difficult year with Long covid I decided to get him an experience with Richard for a gift . Richard was very welcoming, & knowledgable ... my son had a brilliant morning crafting a Viking womens knife . He has some experience anyway with welding & so loved getting to craft his knife . The forge is set in a picturesque village and Richard is really generous with his time. We shall definitely go back . Many thanks Richard "

Bob, as well as being immensely skilled, is a brilliant teacher and we were into the pyrography right from the start. The course was very absorbing (the time flew by) and carefully structured (I was a complete novice!)so that we could make, and see that we were making progress. "I thoroughly enjoyed Rachels Handwoven Bag Workshop last Saturday. I lost myself for a few hours making a lovely bag whilst chatting to the other friendly attendees, drinking coffee and eating cake. It was bliss. Rachel is a fabulous teacher, who inspires you with her creative mind and encourages you to enjoy every minute. Chris reviewed: Learn to Felt - An Introduction to Felt Making in Birmingham

"A most enjoyable day! Emma’s studio was warm and welcoming and was a lovely space in which to work. Emma was an excellent tutor, explaining each stage of the feltmaking process clearly and answering any questions that arose along the way. She provided a fantastic array of materials and taught us techniques for using them to best advantage and during the day we were able to produce a small test piece and a larger piece to our own designs. Throughout the course she kept us supplied with drinks and biscuits and at the end provided us with a handout summarising the different steps and also names of suppliers should we wish to have a go at home..which I most certainly will!"

Emma Jackson (Silversoles - Felted Textiles) responded:

"Great to know you had a rewarding & enjoyable day Christine. Lovely to hear you wish to continue, let me know if you need any assistance."
