SandraK reviewed: 'Bring Your Own Project' Day - Upholstery

"What a fabulous day - great setting, everything you need as a beginner to upholster a chair. And most of all Katie’s patience and manner is just lovely so felt truly supported and proud of what I achieved. Don’t underestimate the amount of time it takes to just take staples out - that is at least half the day for us. And bring a light lunch so you don’t need to pop out and can keep going if you’re short of time. Fabulous day thank toh "

Meticulous Restoration responded:

"Thank you so much for your review Sandra! It was a pleasure to host you in the studio and I'm so glad that you enjoyed the day and felt supported through the processes. Thank you for your kind & helpful feedback."

NickyL reviewed: Get inside an artists mind to create a vibrant lion in acrylic

"Wow! I am amazed at what I've created by following this tutorial. Marilyn has shown me new ways at looking at a work to help reflect it more accurately. I love the vibrancy the colour choices bring and a freedom to be bold. I was going to put 4 stars as there was an issue with receiving the pdf, but this is being resolved. However I managed to follow the tutorial without it and it was so excellent I couldn't but put 5 stars! This really is a tutorial you want to try."

NickyL reviewed: Pen and wash - red kite (the bird, not the toy!) using a folded nib pen

"Highly recommend this tutorial, not only for how to make a 'cola' pen and the increased versitility it provides in your work but Liz is an excellent teacher. Her tutorial is very clear and well explained and it gave me the confidence to go on and try out other images using the cola pen and watercolour wash. "

Liz Chaderton Artist responded:

"Thank you so much for the lovely review Nicky! I’m glad you are a convert. I think they are amazing to work with. Look forward to seeing what you do next."

EE reviewed: You Will Be Able to Draw by the End of This Book

"I have ordered this book twice as at first I wasn't aware that you don't ship to Hungary. The author was very nice and fair, he contacted me to apologize that I really appreciated. I received the transferred amount back so it was ok. Than I found a solution (to get the book shipped to one of my friends located in Brighton) and ordered the book again to her address. UK Post Office informed that the book's being shipped but at that time my friend was abroad so the package could not have been delivered. She requested redelivery but no success. I don't know where my book is but not expecting receiving it anymore..."

Sean Lima reviewed: Beginners Epoxy Resin Workshop

"This was a great course. Richard is a very patient, clear and informative instructor and I really learned a lot, which will help immensely when I start making my own projects. He was happy to answer questions related to other wood projects and you can see the passion he has for teaching. The initial investment is the course may seem expensive, but what you learn will help avoid so many costly mistakes later on. Highly recommend this course and I've already booked onto the table making course with The River Shop. "

Liz reviewed: Plaster mould making for slip cast ceramics with Ed Bentley

"I had a great time working with Ed in his studio. I brought quite a complex shape with me thinking that we would need to rebuild something similar together, but we got to work straight away using the piece that I had brought along. Ed's calm and skilful approach to mould-making meant that we successfully made a mould from this object and I feel much more confident about attempting the same myself in the future. I would thoroughly recommend working with Ed on any of your plaster needs! "

Amanda reviewed: Silversmithing workshop

"Had a fantastic day with my 13 year old son on Kami’s beginners silversmith course. Kami’s enthusiasm was contagious and the course was so engaging. My son made a surf board pendant and is wearing it with pride. He’s also saving for the equipment he will need to make this skill a hobby of his own. Thanks Kami! A special day of making memories. Would totally recommend this course. "

Mya Designs responded:

"Aww, bless ya for such a lovely review. You certainly got stuck into it and had a look at a range of tools and other alternatives you can use that are cheap and readily available. I must say you did great with sawing and texturing, it all takes time and lots of practice to get it right. Beautiful pieces you both made. I can see Max has already got a birthday list of tools he wants as gifts. Wishing him all the success in his new creative hobby :) Try lots of other crafts too, they're all so much fun!"

Denise reviewed: Gelli Plate Printing Workshop by Clare Cosens

" I have done one of these workshops before with Clare, but I always manage to learn and pick up new ideas and I thoroughly enjoy myself. Clare always starts with a brief explanation of the equipment we use, and suggestions on how to get started. With Clare's excellent eye for colour and design, she is more than willing to help if you're struggling at any point. I always manage to find something new to try, and leave with some satisfying prints. If you're looking for a morning of enjoyable crafting, I highly recommend you trying Geli plate printing, it's amazing what you can achieve and it's very addictive! Thank you Clare, keep up with the good work, looking forward to booking my next workshop with you. šŸ˜"

Clare Cosens Designs responded:

"I’m really glad you enjoyed the workshop, it’s great to hear that you still picked up new ideas and techniques even though you have attended the workshop before. I loved your geometric prints - Well done!"

Jack Dimmock reviewed: Beginners Epoxy Resin Workshop

"The course was extremely good, our teacher was excellent, he showed us everything we needed to know for private crafts and I feel very confident to grow my skills and practice. Some of the provided materials weren't appealing, I was lucky a participant was absent and I swapped their wooden river materials for mine. Then whilst there were provided colour examples, there was no way to determine what material would create what colour. It should be said, if I was more confident I'd be more satisfied."
