Moya Fitzpatrick reviewed: Dressmaking with Kirstie Combe at The Viking Loom Ltd York

"A really good positive experience. Working alone has its difficulties when worried about the actual pattern, what sort of interfacing is needed, where to alter the darts, will this material suit the pattern, body shape etc. These queries can be answered here as you go along, so you can correct, alter and complete without throwing the garment in the corner! Plus, lets face it, its nice to have confirmation of 'so I was right then?' Wow! I have booked another course. "

The Viking Loom Ltd responded:

"Thanks so much for yor review Moya. it is so helpful to us. really look forward to seeing you 30th jan . best regards romy"

He is always ready to step in and advise you if needed. The pace of the day is perfect and you come away with a decent knife, albeit a first attempt. Definitely keep an eye on further opportunities with Andy as and when I can fit them in. Thank you Andy for a great day. Highly recommend you."

Simon Stow reviewed: Furniture making course: Fundamentals of Furniture Making Part 1 (beginner)

"I recently took part in a 2 day course with AM Fine Furniture called "The Fundamentals of Furniture Making Part 1". I was taught by Jarrad, and it really was a fantastic experience and introduction to woodworking. Both Jarrad and Aiden were full of knowledge and advice. The information about tooling and sourcing wood has been very useful in planning my next projects and how I would like to move forward in woodworking. I would not hesitate to recommend these guys, and I am looking forward to the next course I can do with them."

Farnham School of Furniture Making Ltd responded:

"I spent a very informative and enjoyable day at Eden Soap School learning how to make various types of candles, eg, pillar, votive, etc, wax melts, and diffusers. Sue and John gave us a very warm welcome. There were only four people on the course which was ideal and we could ask all the questions we had. Seema Mishra reviewed: Copper wire jewellery Workshop

"Kami is the most amazing teacher one can have. She not only teaches you stuff pertaining to the course but she teaches you small hacks which help you as a beginner. She shows you how you don’t need investing in a whole of equipment when simple kitchen stuff can be used for the same. I can’t thank her enough! I am so looking forward for more workshops with her. Thank you Kami and God bless!"

Mya Designs responded:

"Heya Seema, In my workshops there are plenty of tools to use and discuss uses for your experience but you don't need to invest in too many to kickstart your business, I'm so glad you can now incorporate new techniques to your personal designs. You were very focussed on each aspect I taught you which is brilliant, and a good idea it to keep a small notebook of simple designs, gauges of wire and measurements used for if you need to make parts regularly such as ear wires and findings. You could even try some classes more locally for other techniques to add to your skills set. Thanks again for attending the course and keep on creating :) "
