"Excellent course! In spite of being creatively challenged (!) I made gift tags, a tea towel and a tote bag. I’m very pleased with them all! I am confident that I could do more by myself at home. Alison was an excellent tutor - thank you! "

Jane Watts reviewed: Tool Sharpening and Maintenance- 1 Day Course in South Devon

"Just had a great day at Peter's inspiring workshop.. There is definitely a knack to sharpening tools which is best gained by physical attendance on one of Peters workshops. With his expert knowledge, we were guided through the sharpening processes. Lots of time to “hone” our skills with support and guidance as need. I took my leather working tools so had its own challenges. I’m delighted with the results and will forever have sharp tools. Would I recommend? YES I would."

Ian Brown reviewed: Introduction to welding course for two people

"I recently did the learning to weld course for two with my adult son and had a really enjoyable day at Roger’s workshop. With zero experience of any kind of welding or metalwork, the course introduced us to all the basic info required to weld safely and gave us an opportunity to try several machines and tools including the awesome plasma cutter!! As total beginners the majority of the day (for us) was spent on practising the basic skills of joining different types of materials and learning to choose appropriate ways to prepare and setup the components. If you had more prior experience then much more time could undoubtedly go to building up a larger or more complex piece to take home. Whilst a beginner is probably not going home with their own “angel of the north” by the end of the day, we did take home several practice pieces including some name plates and a small stand. I now feel confident enough to buy some equipment and continue to develop this new skill. Overall really good fun as Roger is both a patient and creative teacher as well as a super nice chap. My only recommendation for an improvement would be to use a “What3Words” address to find the venue as a postcode only gets you 99% of the way there and site/road itself (the last 1%) has unhelpful (out of sequence) house numbering so we did drive around for several minutes trying to find the specific house. Thoroughly recommended :)"

"Amazing day. Had lots of fun and thoroughly enjoyed making my lovely hare which I was very proud to take home. Learnt many new skills, which were carefully instructed by Jo at each stage, making the whole process very easy to follow. Beautiful work studio and surroundings which made the perfect setting for a perfect day. "

Jo Garden Art responded:

"Thank you Wendy - your looking back hare was gorgeous. You worked the plaster layer like a sculptor; really lovely to watch. Very happy you enjoyed the day. Jo x"

BenW reviewed: 1-2-1 Practical Leather Tuition & Consultancy with Georgie Tym

"I was given a 1 on 1 session with Georgie as a present. I contacted her and asked if I could split the day into two separate sessions as I wanted to wet form leather in a mold which then needed to dry thoroughly before being glued and stitched. Georgie was so accommodating with my request, she could not have been more helpful. During the two sessions Georgie provided expert tuition, teaching me stitching, wet forming, gluing up and burnishing. She gave me lots of advice and tips and was an expert tutor. I cannot recommend her enough. "

Paula reviewed: Beginners DIY & Home Maintenance Workshop in Warrington, Cheshire (1 Day)

"This course is brilliant! I knew very little about DIY before it but I feel confident enough to tackle many jobs I’ve previously paid people to do for me. I’ve always been intimidated by a drill but not now. I can confidently put up shelves, hang pictures and probably a lot more jobs involving a drill. Jo is a lovely patient teacher who ensures everyone leaves satisfied. I fully recommend it to anyone who’s always thought DIY wasn’t for them."

The Boho Shed responded:

"Paula, thank you so much for your kind words. I’m so pleased you got so much from the day and feel confident doing some of your own jobs at home. It means a lot to me. Go girl! 😊"

Jane reviewed: Slate mosaic workshop at Jo Garden Art

"I had been on one of Jo's sculpture workshops and saw her slate mosaic work then and really liked them. When she said she was developing a workshop, I was first in line! I was not disappointed, right from the start the whole group became absorbed in creating very individual pieces. The slate was gorgeous, almost works of art themselves, and there was lots of interesting glass and other materials to truly make a unique piece of art. Jo supplies hanging hooks, so I put mine up as soon as I got home. A fabulous day with amazing results!"

Jo Garden Art responded:

"Thank you Jane - your work was lovely! Delighted to hear you popped them up on the wall when you got home. I really enjoy looking out for old pieces of slate to use, as you say - works of art in themselves. Jo x"

Karen reviewed: Creative metalwork and welding, scrap metal sculpture.

"I had a really enjoyable day learning how to create things from metal. The tutors were friendly, helpful and encouraging. They provided good advice re what was achievable in a day and showed me how to create a fabulous garden sculpture. I’m so pleased. I enjoyed welding and left the course with something I’m really proud of. Only advice is to take loads of layers of clothes as it was rather cold in the workshop. "

WTF Workshops responded:

"Thanks for the lovely review Karen. Yes, it was so cold on Friday! We had all the heaters on but when it's really cold it's all about the layers and overalls over the top, you're right. I'm glad you had a good day otherwise. "

Julie Shute reviewed: Wet Felted Pots

"I went with my 2 sisters and this is the second felting course we've had with Wendy; the first being flowers and this being pots. Both times have been thoroughly enjoyable. Wendy is calm, friendly, and encouraging and explains things simply and clearly, it also helps that she creates alongside so for those who learn better from watching rather than listening, it's a bonus. The shop is a treasure trove of creations and is very inspiring. The coffee is delicious and time flies by. The technique for felting pots is quite physical but very satisfying. I'm looking forward to booking another lesson soon to create something else. And it's a great idea for a birthday gift too. I'd thoroughly recommend The Little Craftery."

Yohan Fernando reviewed: Beginners Woodworking: Make a Bread Board

"Did the course today and I can confidently say that it’s an exceptional introductory workshop for woodworking. Not only you get to know the basics of making a beautiful breadboard, Richard and Dan will make sure to give you all the pro tips of using tools such as drop saw, router, sander..etc. Small groups mean you are not rushed and have ample time to practice the tools before working on your breadboard. Richard is very knowledgeable and also very patient. Dan is always around to give you a hand and engrave the board if you wish to do so. Pretty satisfying day! "
