Marie-Laurence DAVIES reviewed: Willow Weaving The Duck

"Loved the willow weaving course!!! It was harder than we thought but the rewards were tenfold. Kate was attentive to her pupils’ struggles and came to the rescue quite often. I would recommend this course to friends and family and will encourage my friend to do more willow weaving with me. Our ducks might have turned into geese but they are ours to show off and we’re very proud of them. "

Majed Aggad (MJ) reviewed: Mandala Creation Dotting Workshop in Derbyshire

"A Mesmerizing Journey. I recently had the pleasure of attending the Mandala Dotting workshop led by the talented Tamsin Cunningham, and I must say, it was an experience beyond words. From the moment I stepped into the cosy studio, I knew I was in for something special. Tamsin’s warm demeanour and passion for her craft were evident from the start. She guided us with clarity, patience, and unwavering encouragement, making the entire process a delight. The dotting technique itself was a revelation. As I immersed myself in the rhythmic movements, I found myself transported to a state of deep relaxation. The repetitive nature of dotting proved to be not only meditative but also hypnotic, allowing me to unwind and tap into my creative flow effortlessly. By the end of the workshop, I was astonished by the masterpiece I had created. Each dot seemed to tell a story, and I couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride in my newfound artistic prowess. The ambiance of the studio only added to the magic of the experience. With its cosy yet vibrant atmosphere, it provided the perfect backdrop for a day of creativity and self-expression. What's more, Tamsin graciously offered us the opportunity to purchase our own dotting equipment, ensuring that we could continue our artistic journey long after the workshop concluded. In conclusion, I cannot recommend this workshop enough. Whether you're a seasoned artist or a complete novice, the Mandala Dotting workshop offers something truly special. I, for one, am already eagerly anticipating my next opportunity to delve into Tamsin's other classes. Trust me, you won't want to miss out on this transformative experience."

Tamdala responded:

"Wow Majed, thankyou so much for your incredible review. I am deeply touched and it warms my heart that you had a superb experience and I am so happy that you have tapped into 'more' creativity within you and are looking forward to continuing this healthy but addictive process! It was a pleasure to have you and I'm looking forward to seeing what you produce on the drawing mandala workshop. "

Brenda Williams reviewed: Bespoke Interlined Curtains

"I can’t recommend this workshop highly enough. I wanted to learn how to make luxury curtains and this workshop has shown me how. I now have the confidence to tackle all the windows in my house at a fraction of the cost of having bespoke curtains made. Janet is warm and friendly and we immediately hit it off. She has extensive experience and knowledge and having discussed my knowledge and experience over a coffee we got to work. The order of work is comprehensively documented and Janet went through it at my pace, ensuring I fully understood each step before moving on to the next. Within about 10 minutes I learnt so much I felt I’d already got my money’s worth - she is a fabulous teacher. The workshop is hands-on and covers every aspect including measuring, selecting fabric and other components, hand-stitching, different pleats and dressing the finished curtain. I came away with a sample curtain I had made with varied pleats and the confidence to make all my curtains going forward. It was one of the most enjoyable days I’ve had, Janet is a lovely lady, we had a lot of laughs, and she shared her knowledge freely. I really can’t recommend this workshop enough."

Sarah reviewed: Introduction to Stained Glass Workshop

"I’ve been obsessing over stained glass for a while, and was really keen to have a go, without the huge cost of buying all the bits myself. This full day course was the perfect introduction. Right from the start, Sarah was welcoming, patient and professional. The small group meant she could provide hands on help and answer questions. Sarah provided design ideas (or guided us when making our own), all of the materials and tools, and explained which bits were needed to start from home. I love that there was plenty of opportunity to practice each step before doing the real thing. Sarah was really reassuring and encouraging, and I would definitely recommend any of her courses. I’m in love with my piece, and it’s safe to say I’m still obsessed with stained glass, and on the look out for my own tools! 😍 Thank you! X"

Sarah Hobley Sculpture reviewed: Portrait sculpture in clay

"Having taken a course with Luke five years ago and working as a sculptor, I am still using his techniques and reverting to his problem solving tips - it's simple when an expert who knows how shares it! Luke later mentored me through a complex commissioned portrait, I achieved it and feel I could again. He's a very experienced, straightforward and patient tutor."

Luke Shepherd responded:

"Hi Sarah So pleased to hear your sculpture commission worked out well and that it's given you confidence and tools to tackle another. All very best Luke"

Diana reviewed: Mosaic workshop at Jackie Nash Art

"It was my first mosaic workshop and Jackie made me feel very welcome in her well stocked and laid out workshop. I was with three other people and we all had a good rapport. Jackie explained clearly how the making of a mosaic was to be done and was helpful and inspirational throughout. The atmosphere was great and were very well looked after, Jackie had even baked a cake. There were plenty of examples for inspiration but we were free to do any kind of design we liked. We had time to finish our mosaic and I left mine with Jackie to be grouted and to be picked up at a later date. I had a great day learning how to make a mosaic. It was a splendid introduction to the craft of mosaic making and I would happily come again. "

Jackie Nash Art responded:

"Hi Diana I’m really glad you enjoyed your day, and the company and learnt how to mosaic. Also, thank you for your kind words, as I aim to both teach mosaic and ensure you have a lovely day, too. Your mosaic will look fantastic once grouted. I’ll message you as soon as it's ready. Best wishes Jackie "

"Thank you, we had a fantastic day! I can highly recommend this course for anyone who would like to try a day blacksmithing. My father and I enjoyed every minute. Arian is a wonderful and inspiring teacher. He carefully instructed us throughout our morning apprenticeship. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole day and were very pleased with the pieces we produced on the forge. Thank you so much Arian."

Arian's Forge responded:

"Thank you for your feedback Zoe, it was really good to meet you both and I’m glad you enjoyed the experience. Good luck with setting up your own forge! If you need any advice with that please just get in touch. All the best. Arian"

David reviewed: Mig Welding For Beginners Introductory Day Course.

"John is an excellent teacher, you can tell he has taught welding at the local tech and now teaches alongside his own metal work artistry. I was a complete beginner and he went through everything from welding masks to how the welding machines work. He went at my pace with a positive easy style which gave me confidence. Then we adapted the time to do stick welding on his and my old machine. So now I know it works and what to do with it. Thoroughly recommend."

Newport Wrought Ironwork responded:

"Hi David my name is Tony not John Lol 😂 . Thank you for the fantastic feedback I am very happy that you enjoyed the course and took away the confidence to keep practicing at your own workshop . If you need help or any advice in the future please feel free to contact me. Regards Tony. "

Really lovely bloke and his shed is a a wood turning Disneyland. Thanks "
