Louise Arnett reviewed: 'Bag in a Day' Practical Hand Stitching Leather Course - The Satchel

"This workshop is the most wonderful experience. One of the best craft days I've attended. Georgie was amazing, a great teacher with a great balance of being on hand to assist whilst encouraging me to pretty much make the whole item myself. I'm amazed at how brilliant my satchel looks. I love it. A very relaxed day. I've booked the next day already!!"

Suzanne reviewed: Block printing on Fabric

"The block printing on textiles experience was such fun. Set in a beautiful Hampshire rural location, the venue was excellent. The workshop took place in a very lovely, warm beautifully renovated barn. Alison and her colleague Liz were very welcoming and really knowledgeable. It was a wonderful experience, and we all went home with our own block printed lampshade. I highly recommend the day course, and hope to return to one of the other workshops Alison gives at a later date. Thank you!!! "

Tom C reviewed: Beginners half-day 1-2-1 woodturning workshop for 1 person

"I loved this course - nothing more therapeutic or indeed rewarding than doing something practical and being rewarded with something made by your own fair hand. I thoroughly recommend this course - my half day was extremely relaxed, informative and happy. I was given a run down of all the basic techniques needed to make basic spindle-formed turned-wood objects. Now all I need is a lathe, a good shed with electricity, some wood, some tools and some ideas for storyboards. This time next year, Rodders…."

Blended Monkey - pottery - woodturning - green woodworking - pole lathe - throwing responded:

"Hi Tom, So glad you enjoyed the morning. If you do take it up, do get in touch with any questions and I look forward to seeing you again soon. — Simon"

Shulla reviewed: Glass Suncatcher Copper Foiling Workshop

"I really enjoyed the course. Jo is clearly very experienced in both knowledge and practice. She offered constant encouragement and suggestions for improvement. I'm a person who likes to ask questions to understand why things are done in a particular way and Jo answered them all! The barn was a lovely space. Plenty of tools and equipment and lots of choice of designs and glass. I made one piece during the day. This was my first time working with glass. I could possibly of made two pieces but wanted to practice the cutting until I was fully confident. Stanwick Lakes is a lovely venue - easy to find, lots of parking, a cafe and clean toilets! Thank you Jo."

Stanwick Lakes Art and Craft Courses responded:

"Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a lovely review. We are so pleased that you enjoyed the course and shall pass your comments onto Jo too. We do hope to see you here again at Stanwick Lakes soon. Best wishes, The Stanwick Lakes team."

Sarah reviewed: Glass Suncatcher Copper Foiling Workshop

"It was a great course - lovely, helpful, knowledgeable tutor, and relaxed atmosphere. Definitely pre-order lunch at the cafe if you can. Food was great when we got it, but lunch break had to be extended from 30 mins to 50 mins because we hadn't pre-ordered, and that put time-pressure on us at the end of the day."

Stanwick Lakes Art and Craft Courses responded:

"Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, we are pleased you enjoyed the course. We have noted your comment about the length of time taken to order/receive your food and this will be reviewed. We hope to see you here at Stanwick Lakes again soon. Best wishes, The Stanwick Lakes team. "

Tim reviewed: Craft Your Own Longbow: One To One Woodworking Class

"I did the long bow making course in March, as I've always been interested in wood working and wanted something to get my teeth into. Though I've done a bit of archery before, I don't do it often, so for me this was more about understanding the technique and giving something new a go. The day was exceptional, Matt was a great teacher and supportive throughout, helping me to fix my mistakes and give great hints and tips. At the end, we had time to fire a few arrows, which was great fun and proved I'd made something that worked! I'd thoroughly recommend to anyone looking to try something a little bit different. "
