Molly reviewed: Spoon Carving - Sloyd Workshop

"Max is an amazing teacher! He carefully explained each step of the process and was always there to lend a hand if you were struggling. Max showed us all how to safely and effectively use all the tools as well as answering any questions we had. Everyone was free to choose the template they wanted and had the chance to make changes to the design along the way. I found the experience not only very satisfying but also extremely relaxing. We all came away with an awesome, unique and functional spoon!! Will definitely be back and can highly recommend :)"

Ali H reviewed: Wooden mechanical toy (automata) making

"An enjoyable day with Stef who is organised, enthusiastic, patient, has a meticulous attention to detail and is super knowledgeable about automata. Time flies by quickly in a long day covering the basics, creating all necessary components by hand, assembling, painting, and finally departing, after a rewarding experience, with a very pleasing mechanical toy. I would happily recommend this course."

Penlan Crafts responded:

"Dear Ali, thank you for your very positive review! It was a pleasure meeting and working with you, and I really appreciated your ideas in the personalisation of your automaton. Yes, it was a long day and you worked hard, but thanks to your creative skills (and to your new woodworking ability!!), you created a beautiful toy 😊 "

Would recommend to everyone regardless of if you are an experienced crafter or dipping your toe in, to see if it’s for you. "

"Judith was a great tutor, giving us enough information to make the most of our day. Chris B reviewed: Spoon Carving for Women

"A brilliant day, taught by a talented and patient tutor. I had had one other go at spoon carving the previous year with another tutor, and had got very frustrated with myself. Rosie's style of teaching suited me much better. The day was split into short absorbable sections, so one felt one had got a good understanding of each skill needed (and just as importantly why you were doing it, and what to look out for). Although we achieved a lot in the day, at no stage did it feel pressured, so one ended the day happy and wanting to carry on and learn more. A brilliant course - thank you Rosie"

Rosie.Joy.Maker responded:

"Thank you Chris, really appreciate your feedback. So pleased the day suited you well and you left feeling happy and satisfied! Happy carving!"
