Adam gibbs reviewed: Knife making weekend Gloucestershire

"The experience I have been part of for the last 2 and a hal days has been nothing short of amazing. To take time out from a busy life and career to just concentrate for a while, without being distracted or pestered by anyone was like returning to my roots, before I got busy. Arian is a true expert and unbelievably knowledgable about his craft. This is one string to his bow, but making a knife from raw materials has been a fantastic experience. I would do it again in a heartbeat. I would recommend this to any metal worker, engineer, want to be craftsperson or simply anyone interested. The final result is a knife that will live with me for life, something to be proud of. I could not be happier with the final result."

Nailsworth Community Workshop responded:

"Hi Adam. Thanks a lot for your feedback: I'm delighted that you had such a worthwhile experience, as well as a great knife which I'm sure will serve your for years to come. beautiful bog oak handle and razor sharp edge: that's what we like to see! Thank you for your great energy, skill and enthusiasm, I really enjoyed sharing what I know with you and the others on the course. Many thanks again, and I'll try to come and see your engineering set up. Arian "

Steve Brookes reviewed: Introduction to Natural Inks and Paints

"The recent workshop I attended—making inks & pigments—was amazing! I signed up as I thought it sounded interesting. Wow! It was FAR more than that! Claudia is a fantastic teacher and the day was nothing short of magical. My background is in horticulture and science. The course tapped into all my interests and then some! Either just a small number of participants, you get a chance to ask as many questions as you want and Claudia’s knowledge is brilliant. We made inks in the morning and pigments for oil & watercolour paints in the afternoon. We left enthused and enlightened and with little pots of handmade paints! We have just moved into our new house in Wales and now have plans to start foraging for and growing plants to make pigments. We can't wait! I can’t recommend the course enough. It will show you the wonder of plants & minerals and just what incredible uses they can have. "

Elka responded:

"Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a lovely and detailed review Steve, it is hugely appreciated! We're so gad that you enjoyed the workshop and will really look forward to following your journey with natural dyes in Wales :) X"

Justine Hackney reviewed: One day blacksmithing course in West Wales

"Bought the one day course as a pressie for ny cratsman hubby. Deliberately chose this provider because of the significant experience and art background of Aarom. My husband loved it and came home hugely inspired and with a plethora of beautiful things he'd made. In all honesty, access to this level of expertise is probably worth more than what I paid. Definitely more than your typical bash out a single simple item course on offer elsewhere. Highly recommended and thank you Aaron for making Colin's day so rewarding. He was thrilled."

A and T Petersen Ltd responded:

"Thank you. Really pleased Colin got lots out of the day and enjoyed himself Aaron and Trudi "

Issy P reviewed: Lampwork Beadmaking Full Day Introduction For One

"As someone who has had minimal experience with glass bead making, Ruth was a wonderful teacher. At the beginning we discussed my previous experience and what I hoped to get out of the day and then met those plans wonderfully, helping me feel more comfortable around the torch and glass and feeling confident to strike out on my own at some stage. Ruth also provided a delicious soup for lunch. Highly recommend to anyone wanting either a start or more experience in glass work. "

Kalypso Glass responded:

"Thank you Issy, it was great to meet you and glad to hear you enjoyed your day."

James reviewed: Kitchen Knife Course

"Best birthday present ever. David was extremely knowledgeable, made the experience fun and his attention to detail was impeccable. His thorough explanation of each step was really beneficial and opened my eyes to the real intricacies of the art of knife making. Under his guidance, I made a kitchen knife that will undoubtedly last forever as well as the memory. Will 100% be returning to make something else in the future. He also gave us instructions to ensure that once the knife was made, it could be cared for properly for years to come. Can't thank you enough Dave. Best of luck with everything and hope to see you soon. Hannah and James. "

Paul Townsend reviewed: Mig Welding For Beginners Introductory Day Course.

"I have had a MIG welder for quite a few years now and use it very occasionally on DIY projects. However, despite watching all the you-tube video’s etc. I always struggled to weld to my satisfaction. My wife bought me a day’s course with Tony and what a difference this made. I now understand so much more with Tony’s excellent instructions and I feel I have a sound basic knowledge to move forward, instead of not knowing the right from wrong way of proceeding. He made the day so enjoyable; I would absolutely recommend Tony and his welding course."

Newport Wrought Ironwork responded:

"Thank you Paul for your kind review it’s is greatly appreciated. Continue practicing what you have learned and you will be fine. Keep me posted on any future projects and if I can help you with anything please feel free to contact me. Regards Tony "
