Thomas from Liverpool reviewed: Kitchen Knife Course

"An excellent day out! Best is, I not only learned new skills on the day but got to take home a quality product, likely to be used every day. And each time I touch it, it will put a big smug smile on my face. Dave is an outstanding teacher who, while explaining and demonstrating a lot, gave me enough room on every step of the way, that I can confidently take ownership of the finished product. I made this. Thank you Dave! And thank you Diana for a perfect gift!"

Hand forged Yorkshire responded:

"Thank you very much Thomas for your fantastic review, I truly appreciate it and your kind comments. You did an excellent job with your knife and it was an absolute pleasure to meet you and have you in the workshop. So glad you enjoyed the day and you're happy with the knife you made, it is a stunner well done"

"Chris was very welcoming and knowledgable and we created some very colourful bags. There was a a wide range of felting wools to choose from and everything was provided including a delicious soup lunch. Access the house was a little difficult and wouldn’t suit someone with mobility issues."

Gilly reviewed: Make paper from autumn leaves

"This was a nice thing to do but you need to wrap up as it was mainly outside and cold in the room. There wasn’t quite enough to do so we finished early. Maybe Brian could have prepared a few more different materials as we only used leaves ( worked well) and bracken which he hadn’t tried before and which didn’t work so well. He’s obviously very knowledgeable and we enjoyed the day!"

Wild Plant Paper responded:

"Thanks Gilly for your review. Sorry for the miscommunication, there was some other material we could have used, I got the feeling people had done all that they wanted to! Lesson learned, I will check I have understood what people are feeling next time. All the best Bryan "

Anne reviewed: Needle felt workshop

"A wonderful morning spent with Yvonne. She is very welcoming and friendly. There was a good choice of things to make for beginner to those who have felted before. As a beginner I was advised which projects were suitable, and I chose a baby hedgehog. There were 5 of us so Yvonne had plenty of time to give each of us the help we needed. Yvonne has lots of wool to enable a choice for each project. I would highly recommend learning with Yvonne. "

Needle Felt Art responded:

"Thank you Anne for such a comprehensive and glowing review. I do like to offer a choice of projects to suit each individual. I am so pleased you had an enjoyable morning, you did so well as a beginner, your baby hedgehog was adorable. I do hope you continue with your new found craft, It would be lovely to felt with you again, Yvonne. "

"I attended this course with my mum and we both thoroughly enjoyed the day. We had done stained glass before but with the copper foil style so this was something new to learn and we both gained so much more knowledge from Mike & Jenny than previous course we had done. It was quite an intensive day but Mike & Jenny were so friendly and helpful that you didn't notice how full on it was until the end! Mike was really knowledgeable and very forthcoming with hints and tips to help us along the way. It was an absolute pleasure to attend this course and we both very much look forward to being able to attend another at some point in the near future. Thank you for re-igniting our passion!"

Alan. and Matthew. reviewed: Day classes in traditional blacksmithing ... make an item to take away

"My son and I spent the day with Rudi on this course. It was a brilliant day if a little cold. Rudi is a great teacher and everything was hands on from the get go. Relaxed teaching, focusing on learning by doing rather than theory work. I specifically asked If we could learn to make arrow heads and medieval nails and Rudi didn't disappoint . By the end of the day, we had made Bodkin Arrow heads, nails and a pair of Blacksmithing tongs that we can use at home when I build my own forge. I thoroughly recommend this course if you are interested in learning some blacksmithing skills, but have no experience like us. "
