Dave Smith reviewed: Introduction to Furniture Restoration at Craven Conservation

"What an excellent course and a lovely way to spend a day! Bill is clearly extremely knowledgeable and gave us a lot of useful information in a really understandable way. There was a good mixture of theory and hands on work. The idea of everyone bringing a different piece worked well as each had its own learnings. At the end I was enthused to carry on and have a go at home. Definitely recommend Bill and this course."

Craven Conservation and Restoration Ltd responded:

"Thank you for coming and for the positive feedback Dave. Really pleased that you enjoyed the day. "

Julie Symonds reviewed: Christmas Mosaics-Wreath/circular table decoration or Robin, Star or Tree

"The Mosaic Course with Emily was fantastic. My friend and I chose to do a large wreath with bow. A fantastic range of mosaic tiles were ready for us to start using after a safety briefing and instruction on how to shape tiles. Lunch although described as light, turned out to be a choice of freshly home made soup, crusty bread (gf for me) as well as brownies, flapjacks, ginger cake and lemon drizzle cake all washed down with lot of tea or coffee. Emily was attentive when we needed advice, but otherwise allowed to get on. She was very encouraging. We finished early, but rather than going home Emily offered for us to make another small mosaic. We had travelled a long distance to the venue, but it was certainly well worth it."

Stories In Glass responded:

"Thank you so much for such a lovely review Julie. It is always so nice to hear that people have enjoyed the whole experience of their workshop, including the lunch and refreshments as well as the actual mosaic work. You made such beautiful wreaths and it sounds as though you both feel like it was worth coming a good distance to do this workshop together so I am delighted about that. Enjoy your wonderful artwork and thank you again for your kind words. Very best wishes to you both. Emily"

"My son and I had a lovely day at the Batik course. We received clear instructions at the beginning and each subsequent stage. Alison was encouraging about our work whilst also suggesting ways we could develop it further. Alison and Liz were friendly and professional and, even though it was a blustery day, the location still looked stunning. . We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a course here. My daughter and I are hoping to attend the wirework course next year (having heavily hinted to husband/dad as a Christmas present). "

"Liz was welcoming and very knowledgeable about lino cutting and design work. I loved my day and learned a lot in a fabulous work space and in a group of only 4 of us, so we all got individual attention and plenty of help. Denise Hill reviewed: Glass Fusing for Beginners - Tealight Holders mini workshop

"If there were 10 stars I would award them. I had an absolutely fabulous day. I found Mike and Jenny (especially) so friendly, helpful, generous with their time, and I produce work to a standard I would not have thought possible. Jenny was very informative, certainly knows what she is talking about and her encouragement was so good. I will definitely be going back to do more. I doubt it will be this year unfortunately as I am going into hospital for a knee replacement. Mike was very accomading in regards to my day of attendance, as the hospital messed me about a bit changing my date. How pleased I was to get in to do the tealights before hospital. Mike has also offered to post to me if I cannot get in to collect them. The range of art and crafts they offer for learning new skills is fantastic. I would encourage anyone to go they will not be disappointed. My grateful thanks Jenny and Mike. "

Vitreus Art responded:

"Hi Denise, It was our pleasure sharing our skills with you and helping you create something you can enjoy. We think you did a great job, for your first time at glass fusing. All were lovely, but I particularly like the little beach hut! Your pieces will be going into the kiln soon and we will let you know when they are ready. We're certainly happy to post them to you under the circumstance. We wish you a speedy recovery from your operation, and hope to see you again in the studio sometime next year. All the very best, Jenny & Mike Vitreus Art"
