Trace B reviewed: Embroidery for beginners

"Great day spent with Rosemary. I've done bits of embroidery in the past, but only dabbled not knowing what I am doing. Rosemary was so patient. As I was the only student that day, I definitely had Rosemary's attention. Would definitely recommend this to any beginner. "

Heritage Embroidery responded:

"Hi Tracey. Thank you so much for your kind review. I enjoyed our day spent stitching together and hope that you now feel confident enough to finish the project we started. Best wishes Rosemary x "

Harriet reviewed: Crafty Basketry's Basket Weaving for Beginners - Day Course in Winchelsea

"I did the one day basket course at King John's Nursery and couldn't have been happier. Despite the weather, we had an absolutely fantastic day in the barn, making our baskets. The class size was small, there was plenty of room for us all to manoeuvre, and I came away with something that I really love and am very proud of! I particularly appreciated how Marianne supported our creativity by allowing us to choose our own style of basket, try out different weaving structures and incorporate some hedgerow materials too. There was a really great choice of different willow to work with, and very clear explanations and information about how to source and prepare our own materials so that we can carry on making baskets after the course. She even followed up with written information, so I feel confident to have a go on my own now, but I will definitely be back for another course in the near future. Highly recommend! "

Crafty Basketry responded:

"Hello Harriet, Over the moon with your review and recommendation! What can I say. Oh, I know! You were the easiest student to teach, as you picked up the techniques so quickly. Must be your knitting and math expert background. I hope you'll have lots more fun, weaving baskets, if not at another course, then just following my written notes and perhaps one day I can tempt you with new challenges / techniques. All the best for now, Marianne "

Emily H reviewed: 1-2-1 digital photography for beginners in Oxfordshire

"Aimee is so knowledgeable. She teaches photography and so has a real understanding of all the functions of a camera and how they relate to the image you then take. She makes her explanations easy to understand and then allows you time to put them into practice to embed the learning. Not only that but Aimee is a really lovely person who is very easy to get on with. We had a fabulous day in Oxford, I learnt loads and had a real laugh as well. I’d thoroughly recommend this to anyone who either doesn’t have a clue how to use a D-SLR camera (like me) or anyone looking to develop their skills. "

Abigail Gault reviewed: Lampworking Workshop: Full Day Beginners Workshop

"Wow, such a wonderful experience! I was gifted a full day lampworking course and I loved every second. Whilst I was a little daunted at how difficult it might be, Suzanne was an excellent teacher and really put me at ease, she was happy to show her techniques as many times as I needed and I really enjoyed chatting as we made beads in the studio. I ended up making tonnes of beads and trying a lot of techniques, will 100% be booking again, so much fun! Thank you xx"

Andrew reviewed: 2 Day Woodturning Course for Beginners

"This was two days of blissful and purposeful activity. I was a complete novice at wood turning, but nevertheless came away with four pieces of work what I am really satisfied with, and which I thoroughly enjoyed making. Each project felt just a bit more challenging than the previous one. Mick is a patient and encouraging trainer, and great company to be with. The workshop is light and airy, and all the tools and materials are very good quality. In addition I felt safe at all times. I would heartily recommend this course to anyone who wants to create something beautiful."

Cheshire Woodturning and Workshop Training Limited responded:

"Thanks for reviewing the course you did at my workshop Andrew. I'm so glad that you enjoyed the course and were pleased with the quality of your finished products. Over the two days, you really applied yourself and I personally enjoyed watching you grow as a woodturner. Well done!"

SF reviewed: Traditional Hedge-Laying

"A really great course that was very hands-on, with plenty of time for practical experience. Denmark Farm Conservation Centre responded:

"Thank you for sharing your feedback. That's great to hear. Peter is an amazing teacher and we are very grateful that he as been laying our hedges for so long. I hope you can come back to admire this hedge again soon. Best wishes Mara"
