Jessica "Goth Chick" Johnson reviewed: Beaded flower fairy workshops

"WOW I just had the best morning ever making a Halloween witch fairy, she has a black silk rose skirt & the cutest ceramic toadstool feet. Don't be fooled into thinking they are for kids, I am 31 & have no hesitation in recommending these fairy workshops. These fairies are beautiful & so so different from anything I have ever seen before that wish i had booked a double workshop now. I have done many different craft & jewellery workshops & classes over the years, this one is by far the best thing I have ever done.I wasn't rushed & the tutor Scarlet gives a relaxed workshop. Best 2 & a half hours ever. I'm going to do the Christmas fairy workshop for sure. I saw all the Christmas stuff to make them & she has some fabulous stuff. Cheers scarlet, this Goth Chick will be back xx"

Scarlets Fairy Folk responded:

"Thank you so much for your review Jessica. So happy you enjoyed the Halloween Fairy Workshop. Your Witch Fairy turned out beautiful, and apart from the toadstool shoes you were almost dressed the same as your fairy, a real Goth Chick indeed, hahaha.. But seriously though it was a real shame you didn't mention asking to extend your workshop today, I would have been happy to. If you come to a Christmas Fairy Workshop let me know if you want a double booking. Sx"

Loretta reviewed: Beaded flower fairy workshops

"What a fabulous time I had. Scarlet was very warm and welcoming. Her workshop was like fairyland - a little (well I'm little but not so young) girl's dream :-) She had lot of fairies on display that she had made to help inspire you and an amazing range of bits and bobs to choose from, in every colour under the sun. She clearly explained and demonstrated each step and was extremely patient when I changed my mind about my fairy colours. There was plenty of tea, coffee, biscuits and chocolates too. Would definitely recommend this workshop. I did it on a 1:1 basis but am going to get a group of my friends together to do it instead of buying xmas presents for each other. Great fun and a brilliant product to bring home with you. The hardest part is trying to think of an apt name for my fairy! Thanks Scarlet.... I will see you again soon!"

Scarlets Fairy Folk responded:

"...Awwww that was a lovely review Loretta, many thanks indeed. Part of the workshop experience is to try out different colours and designs and not to just settle on the first colours you choose, most everyone changes colours along the way to get exactly what they like. Your black and white satin fairy was just lovely and I am so pleased you loved the workshop. I really enjoyed it too. Looking forward to seeing you again for your group workshop. Scarlet..x"

Ely reviewed: Beaded flower fairy workshops

"Arranged this fairy course at my BBQ. It was super. The men cooked the BBQ whilst the woman had mega fun making flower fairies. This course is different, fun and suitable for all ages. Even my friend's mom, Vera, who was 92 came along and partook in the fun. Scarlet is super patient and a fun too! Of course what we made never came close to Scarlet's flower fairies. Have you seen her Xmas fairies- they are a must have! Thank you- Ely and the girls x"

Scarlets Fairy Folk responded:

"...Thank you so much for the fab review Ely and and all the ladies. It was a fun day for me too, and a big thank you for the compliment on my Christmas fairies, I confess, they are my favourite. Sx"

Roslyn Williams reviewed: Beaded flower fairy workshops

"If you do one Christmas craft workshop seriously this is the one. We had Scarlet come to my house before for a fairy making workshop for 12 of us & it was fantastic, so we just had to do the Christmas fairy making workshop as well & WOW it was the best yet. There were 10 of us this time making the most amazing Christmas fairies & was so much fun. Our fairy party ages were from 22 to 60 years old & every one made a different fairy. Scarlet is just wonderful & really patient & the choice of beads & stuff just has the wow factor. We really really recommend you try this. I can 100% guarantee you will love it & want to go back again & again just like us. All us girls thank you Scarlet for a great evening and we will be seeing you again soon for sure."

Scarlets Fairy Folk responded:

"Awwww my absolute pleasure Roslyn, I love the Christmas Fairies too and you All made lovely ones. Be great to see you All again soon and hope to see you at the next themed fairy workshop which will be Valentine Fairies starting from February 1st 2020. Scarlet..x"

Cicely reviewed: 1-to-1 Beginners Leatherworking Workshop

"Pipa is amazing, she has such a passion for her craft and it is really infectious! I had such a great time on this course and I learnt so much. I had no experience of leather work when I arrived and I now feel like I know enough to embark on a project of my own. Her resource pack means I have something to refer back to about all the many tools, techniques and leathers that she explained. I highly recommend giving leathercraft a go at the Wolf Workshop."

Elizabeth Hogg reviewed: Learn to sketch with the Edinburgh Sketcher

"This was an excellent taster course. I learnt a lot and would be happy to take a further course. The small class size meant we could hear and see well when we were outdoors, and Mark gave us any attention we wanted. The length of the course was just right and the coffee was perfect."

The Arienas Collective responded:

"Hello Elizabeth Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us this review. We do keep all our class sizes small so our artists and makers can give you the help and support you need to get the most of your time. And glad you enjoyed the coffee! Hope to see you back at one of Mark's advanced sketching with watercolour workshops sometime soon. Meantime, keep sketching! With best wishes Lynn"

Sharon reviewed: Batik your initial in Ripley, Derbyshire

"I highly recommend this course. I had such a brilliant day learning a new craft. Sue was so welcoming, put me at ease from the start and was incredibly generous with her time. The studio is lovely with a calm, relaxing atmosphere and filled with beautiful and inspirational works of art. Sue was an excellent and encouraging teacher offering guidance throughout the day. I plan to continue developing my skills in this medium, and I would love to do another course with Sue if offered."

Attic Batik responded:

"Hi Sharon. I'm delighted you enjoyed discovering the craft of batik and I'm thrilled it's something you are choosing to carry on with. I can see clearly already that you have your own unique delicate style. And of course, I'd be more than happy to see you again! Many thanks."

Sylvie Soudan reviewed: Learn to sketch with the Edinburgh Sketcher

"Suitable for beginners and more experienced artists. As the group is deliberately kept small Mark is able to give everyone individual guidance at their own level. A relaxed but very stimulating session, highly recommend."

The Arienas Collective responded:

"Hello Sylvie Thank you so much for this lovely review. We keep our group sizes small for exactly the reasons you give, and I'm so glad you felt this meant that Mark was able to give you each the individual support you needed. He has a lovely relaxed way of teaching, yet your sketching results show that much was achieved in a relatively short time. Maybe see you at one of his upcoming advanced sketching with watercolour workshops? Meantime, keep sketching! Best wishes Lynn"

Julie Vannan reviewed: Modern lampshade 1:1 workshop, with business start-up support in Hove, East Sussex

"A full on day-packed with information. Thoroughly enjoyed making the lampshade - Moji gave instruction, tips and advice on how to make it and took pics at every stage, so I have something to go back to when I make one myself which I thought was a good idea! The business advice left me with lots of questions to answer going forward but all good. Lunch was tasty too! All in all a very enjoyable way to spend a Sunday - would recommend!"

Lorna Robertson reviewed: 3 week jewellery making workshops with Fiona Hermse

"I attended this course with Fiona and it was so good I signed up for another one! Fiona is a great teacher, very patient, great at explaining the different jewellery techniques and always goes out of her way to help and offer advice. The course has covered a wide variety of techniques including sawing, soldering, texturing and enamelling. The class has made things like earrings, pendants and rings. Fiona is very flexible and allows you to choose what you wish to work on or what techniques you would like to learn. She respects everyones individual styles and encourages this. The small class sizes are also a bonus, meaning you get more 1:1 time and are not waiting about for assistance. Overall a great class with an excellent teacher whom I highly recommend!"

Fiona Hermse Jewellery & Applied Art Workshops responded:

"Hi Lorna Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review Lorna, and in such detail! It is so lovely working with you and a pleasure to help make your jewellery ideas come to life. Looking forward to seeing your next pieces in production! :-)"

Graham Brown reviewed: Learn to sketch with the Edinburgh Sketcher

"I was given this course as a gift at Christmas. Despite losing my glasses on the way to the course I really enjoyed the experience. I was very pleased with what I managed to produce, despite the lack of glasses, under the expert guidance of our tutor Mark. He made everyone feel welcome and relaxed and was always on hand with help and advice. I would certainly recommend this course to others and hope to join further courses in the future."

The Arienas Collective responded:

"Hello Graham You did so well without your glasses! I do hope you recovered them. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review. I thought you all created some fantastic work - on what was a chilly day! Mark has a lovely relaxed way of teaching a skill some people are a bit scared of trying. I'm glad your experience has encouraged you to continue, and hope to welcome you back soon. With best wishes Lynn"

Jan Davies reviewed: Wet Felt a beautiful neck warmer for Spring- in fine Merino wools and silks

"Booked a whole day workshop with Judi, first time doing any felting! A lovely welcome when my friend and I arrived with a good explanation of how the day would go. Then introduced to a 'sweet shop' of beautiful wools, silks, and other possible embellishments, almost too many to choose from. Then off to the studio to start our practice piece, learning how to felt into the fine silk. Then the fun of choosing colours for our finished scarves. Judi is very knowledgeable, and encouraging. More work to do to finish our scarves at home, my goodness the day went quickly! A delicious lunch too! A great day, would definitely recommend this workshop, thank you so much Judi."

Felting in Devon responded:

"Dear Jan, Thank you so much - it was an absolute pleasure to show you some nuno felting techniques, with your natural artistry and skills. Please send photograph of fully finished scarf. I've sent you a separate link to my Blog feltingindevon showing all the tutorial links. Have a great week and stay in touch. Judi ?"

Dani + Isobel reviewed: One day Wedding Rings Workshop Jewellery course for couples.

"We wanted some special memories connected to our wedding rings, so this workshop was perfect. Neither of us had made jewellery before, but Sarah talked us both through the tricky parts, and the satisfying ones (whacking them with a hammer!) She really took the time to make us feel comfortable and welcome from the first consultation, guiding us through our options with ring design, to the final polish and photographing of the finished rings. We love our rings and absolutely recommend this day to anyone considering it!"

Clare Trimarco reviewed: Paint and Clay: mixed media polymer clay workshop

"Jo and I discussed how much experience I had of working with Polymer Clay. Taking this into account she tailored my session to meet the skills I already had and to extend them further. Jo's calm, easy going manner made learning a relaxing experience even though we got through several processes. I learned new skills in working with colour, texture and we used clay I hadn't used before that enhanced my results. I came away with my head buzzing with what I had learned and I have already put some of that learning in to practice with very satisfactory results. I have another course booked with Jo already. I would encourage anyone thinking of having a go at this course to give it a try, whether you have previous experience using Polymer Clay or not."

Jo Hunter Wearable Art responded:

"Thank you so much for your kind words Clare - it was a fun day for both of us! Looking forward to seeing you next month, Jo"
