Stephen Leahy reviewed: Beginners introductory pyrography course in Lincolnshire

"Exactly what we (my wife also attended) required. A good practical session with a brief history of art of pyrography. Susan provided copious amounts of information and techniques, including how to create new stylii, choosing the correct woods and how to finish projects. The ability to easily use real leather was a very welcome surprise. Course is well pitched for the beginner and Susan provides a friendly atmosphere in which to learn."

Amarjeet reviewed: Batik your initial in Ripley, Derbyshire

"I had an absolutely fantastic day with Sue. She is very knowledgeable and talented. I learnt so much! The studio was a comfortable, inspiring and warm place to spend the day in. Plenty of tea/coffee/biscuits throughout the day with some lovely homemade soup and bread for lunch. Sue quietly instilled confidence in you throughout the day if you were feeling unsure,as I was, for not being very "arty". When I shared my Batik with my family they were really impressed . My husband said he would like one so I will be booking again. Thank you Sue for such a relaxed and enjoyable day. I would highly recommend this course to anyone."

Attic Batik responded:

"Thank you Amarjeet. It's great to hear your family were impressed by you exploring your creativity and they ought to be; you made a lovely batik and of course I'm so happy you'll be coming back again! :-)"

Helen Hicks reviewed: Stained Glass/Mosaics

"I can't recommend Sam's courses too highly. The group is enjoyable and people are willing to share ideas and techniques. It is also inspiring to see other people's work. Sam helps on everything. For example, I'd planned a leaded piece but the elements were too small so Sam is helping me to implement it as a foiled piece. She's especially given help and advice on cutting and assembling, displaying marvellous patience. I have learned so much and enjoyed it all. Helen"

Laura Mason reviewed: Introducing Macrame Knots and Intricate Designs

"A couple of days ago I did this course and it was everything I could have hoped for. Mary is very lovely and was well prepared for my visit. Mary had listened well to what I had mentioned I would like to know and we didn't waste any time cracking on and getting hands on with the macrame. I am now inspired and confident that I can continue on and develop my craft. Thank you so much for your time Mary. It was lovely chatting with you."

Jo Sheppard reviewed: Recycled China Mosaic Workshop Full day /Half Day

"To say Adela is self taught, she is very knowledgeable about all aspects of mosaics and happily gave advice on tiles, adhesives and bases. Her class was relaxed and fun with plenty of broken crockery to choose from and lots of wooden shapes. Her art work that adorns her studio is fabulous. If you are new to mosaics or have already dabbled I recommend gathering some friends and booking up quickly......"

"Had 3 really great days learning how to make a hazel backpack with Lorna. Big thanks to her for going above and beyond in passing on her skills and knowledge with really clear and in-depth tuition. Clare reviewed: Machine made lined curtains

"I thoroughly enjoyed my morning with Janet, learning how to make curtains and how to take control of my sewing machine. Janet is a wonderful teacher, though I did not feel as if I were the pupil. She was extremely patient and helpful and allowed me to practice a technique until I was satisfied with the results. I feel far more confident now about tackling a more ambitious sewing task and know that I need to practice and spend more time on the preparation stages. I can heartily recommend Janet's course - you are in the hands of an expert , who wears her expertise lightly and makes you relax and enjoy yourself- always the best way to learn new skills."

Joanna Bellis reviewed: Shimmer & Sparkle: polymer clay jewellery making

"Such an enjoyable day - I thought I'd make one necklace but ended up with a brooch, a pendant and three pairs of earrings as well! Jo is an excellent instructor with the right balance of teaching new skills while allowing each participant to make their own choices. The course numbers allow plenty of time to help each person and each of us came away with something special and unique."

Jane reviewed: Spoon carving workshop with Fazey Woodcraft

"I loved this course and Jack is a brilliant teacher. By the end of the day I came away with one spoon and another in the making and a desire to buy the tools and get cracking on some more. The beginnings of a great hobby for life! He was thorough in teaching us how to handle the tools safely and guided us through each stage. No one was left behind and Jack was available for help at any moment with a watchful eye at all times yet allowing us to feel our own way at the same time. Many thanks ?? Jack for a wonderful creative day. Jane ?"

Fazey Woodcraft responded:

"Thanks Jane! Glad you enjoyed it so much and hope to see you again on another one!"

Alison Cheshire reviewed: Beaded jewellery making workshops with Angela Smith

"Went to an afternoon workshop with Angela early February 2020. Angela is an excellent teacher and is very patient. She certainly knows her subject and is always ready to provide guidance but without taking over. The projects you make are very much your own. There are lots of different styles of beads available for you to make your projects. I came away with a lovely floating necklace and some matching earrings. There were only two of us on this session as two ladies had pulled out but that didn't make a difference and it was a very sociable afternoon. I would recommend this course if you are a beginner and even if you understand the basics. I learnt a lot from this session."

Karen Nichols reviewed: Silver and Polymer Clay combo at West Country Creative in Lifton, Devon

"I had a fantastic day at Westcountry Creative with Jo. I came away with a pair of earrings, a pendant and a brooch. Having only worked with Sterling Silver in sheet and wire form, I wanted to learn more about how these materials work and how I could use and adapt them into possible creations in the future. Her workshop is set in lovely surroundings and was very easy to find. Jo was very patient and explained things clearly and was very happy to give hints and tips which we could use at home. There are a lot of Silver Clay courses on offer, some of which are closer to where I live, but this was the only one I found that gave you the opportunity to try both Polymer Clay and Silver Clay in the same day. Another factor as to why I booked this course was that I felt it was important to like the work shown on her website. I've come across other courses which showed the work to be chunky and heavy looking and I wanted to create something more delicate, which is what Jo produces. My journey with these materials has only just begun and I'm sure this won't be the only course I book with Jo. Hope to see you again soon."
