Sandra Robinson reviewed: From fleece to fibre 2-day spinning workshop

"Really enjoyed the course, always wanted to do this. Elaine was really helpful, knowledgeable and easy to learn from - she explained everything really well, so I understood what to do. Not sure at this time if I would get a spinning wheel but really enjoyed the hand spinning - so might give that a go first."

shanta reviewed: One-to-One Private workshop

"My husband, myself and grand daughters' Nan were given a surprise to attend the mosaic glass workshop as his lordship's 75th birthday gift. All three of us first timers, never having held the tools or glass before as a craft. We thoroughly enjoyed the day. Seeing the pictures of our masterpieces, Gigha the patient tutor has people lined up to join the classes. Gigha has a lovely workshop with delicious lunch and refreshments. I would recommend Gigha's classes highly. Shanta Shah"

Jill Thomas reviewed: Resin art course for beginners

"A fantastic course I attended, an absolute novice and left feeling like an artist. I’m so excited about creating pieces and finishing them in epoxy resin. Norman’s relaxed style, knowledge and demonstration of the subject matter fills you with confidence and makes you feel like bulk buying materials, renting a studio and locking yourself away for a month. I would highly recommend this course"

Hazel reviewed: Create a ceramic animal sculpture with Twisted Earth Ceramics at Ilkley Manor Studio

"I've always said I have zero artistic talent but Richard has proved me wrong. Richard is an amazing teacher who guides you through the day step by step making sure everyone is involved and looked after. If your piece starts to go a bit wrong (like mine did several times) he will come and help you get back on track and you will end up with a piece you are proud of. Loved every part of the day so much so my Mum and I recently went on another course together. You really have nothing to lose, go for it!"

Karen reviewed: 12 week stained glass course

"This is a great course. Friendly, fun, and the small group size means that Sam has lots of time to spend with students. I am currently making a mosaic picture, but have also done some glass fusing, copper foiled stained glass, and my next project will be a leaded piece for my garden. People sometimes pop into the church for other reasons and are always amazed by the beauty of the work we are creating."

Sam Finning responded:

"Thank you Karen. I love people’s reactions when they see students work too! It certainly inspires people to have a go."

Paul Muir reviewed: Bladesmithing experience day

"Excellent course with an excellent teacher, Steve was patient, knowledgeable and enthusiastic throughout. It's clear Steve has a passion for bladesmithing and is more than happy to share his knowledge and his ‘man shed’. I’d highly recommend, and was great to finish a course with something I can proudly show people whilst warning them not to touch as it’s ‘freaking’ sharp!"

White Tiger Knives responded:

"Hi Paul Thank you for your review and I'm really pleased that you enjoyed your day so much, watch those fingers! ATB Steve"

Harriet Birch reviewed: 1 day Leather craft course beg/int

"Slim allowed us to create a dog collar and lead which was not listed on the items of the typical course. He provided all tools, information and assistance to do so and all in a brilliant manner. We came away from the course feeling confident in creating such products outside of the course. He also offered to help us should we have any questions after the course. I can’t recommend this course enough from Slim's knowledge to his hospitality, it’s fantastic!"

Ross Leather and Wood responded:

"Hi Harriet thanks so much for your lovely comments it was an absolute pleasure working with you guys. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. All the best Slim."

Katharine Legge reviewed: Wire sculpture course - birds in East Yorkshire

"This is the second wire course I’ve done with Susan Nichols and I’m returning because I wanted to make a fox to go with the goose I made the first time... and because I enjoyed the course so much. Susan is welcoming and her workshop a lovely creative space to be in. The course is well structured and Susan has base armatures, tools and materials ready for the creature you want to build. She is skilful, patient and helpful throughout the day to enable one to go home with a finished project or nearly, as in my case, providing the materials to complete my fox tail. It was a satisfying, fun, and long day. To make a fox, the work is intense and tiring, but fun, and you realise how skilful Susan is because she makes it look easy. The cakes at tea break are lovely too!"

Nicki Spicer reviewed: Traditional lead stained glass courses for beginners

"This was a stunning course in a beautiful peaceful garden location yet also in the centre of the very unique town of Frome. I did a 2 day beginners course in stained glass windows and came away with a very lovely functional stained glass art piece. Tamasine was a lovely teacher. Very relaxed with clear tuition and left me to do each stage myself after showing me what to do. However she was there to help whenever I needed it. She broke the whole session into bite-sized achievable chunks even though there are a whole load of steps in the whole process of which I had been previously totally unaware. I now look at stained glass windows with awe and respect because I now really understand quite how much work and immense skill goes into a detailed piece - of which mine though beautiful was a simple design - but achievable in just 2 days. I would very much recommend Tamasine’s course. I loved every moment."

Art Glass by Design responded:

"Thank you Nicki You were a brilliant student and i very much enjoyed your company as well. Congratulations on a beautiful piece of living art. Tamasine"

Lyn Wills reviewed: Nuno felt a silk scarf in fine merino wools and silks with Judi Binks

"I had no idea what Nuno Felting was before this course...but now I do! I have tried many crafts and really enjoyed this. It was great to try something completely different. Judi was completely engaged with her craft and very enthusiastic. The choice of materials was excellent and I look forward to wearing my finished piece. Many thanks, Judi"

Felting in Devon responded:

"Dear Lyn, Thank you for this brilliant review. I'm so glad we managed to re work that grey edging as it turned out to be both strong and elegant. Well done! I've posted photos on my blog and I think I sent you the link. Please send me a photograph of the finished dry scarf. It was lovely to meet you both, stay in touch. Have a good weekend. Judi"

Sian Clifton reviewed: Screen-print repeat patterns on fabric

"So many aspects of screen printing were covered in a day"

The Arienas Collective responded:

"Hello Sian Thanks so much for taking the time to leave us feedback. Lou has a lot of knowledge and skills to share, being a printer herself, and I'm glad you feel that the course covered so much. It's the benefit of a full day workshop over a half day that you have time to cover so much more. Hope it inspired you to keep printing! Best wishes Lynn"

Helen reviewed: Soap making course (beginner) - in the heart of the Ashdown Forest, Sussex

"After having two 'courses' local to me cancelled, I drove 2 hours each way to Ashdown Forest. Simon's intention of the 'course' was to demonstrate soap-making with lye but have participants only make soaps with melt and pour - which is easy to do at home. I wanted the lye experience which he did let me do - but without any safety equipment - no gloves or goggles. I seemed to know more about soap-making than he did. He said he would send me the soaps we made but that was nearly 5 weeks ago and there is no sign of them. He has stopped replying to my queries about where they are. He also used tap water to make the soap - which is probably why another reviewer found the soaps lathered poorly. At least she got her soaps! So I went a long way and paid £65 for nothing. Absolutely not worth the time or money."

Clare Levings reviewed: Weaving: the journey begins

"I had been looking forward to the weaving course since before Christmas as it was a gift from my husband and it didn't disappoint. The loom was prepared on arrival and there were lots of different types and colours of yarn to choose from. The instruction was given in a very friendly and clear way together with explanatory notes and patterns to use. I was thrilled to cover a great deal and left having ordered a loom - need I say more!?"

Jessica "Goth Chick" Johnson reviewed: Beaded flower fairy workshops

"WOW I just had the best morning ever making a Halloween witch fairy, she has a black silk rose skirt & the cutest ceramic toadstool feet. Don't be fooled into thinking they are for kids, I am 31 & have no hesitation in recommending these fairy workshops. These fairies are beautiful & so so different from anything I have ever seen before that wish i had booked a double workshop now. I have done many different craft & jewellery workshops & classes over the years, this one is by far the best thing I have ever done.I wasn't rushed & the tutor Scarlet gives a relaxed workshop. Best 2 & a half hours ever. I'm going to do the Christmas fairy workshop for sure. I saw all the Christmas stuff to make them & she has some fabulous stuff. Cheers scarlet, this Goth Chick will be back xx"

Scarlets Fairy Folk responded:

"Thank you so much for your review Jessica. So happy you enjoyed the Halloween Fairy Workshop. Your Witch Fairy turned out beautiful, and apart from the toadstool shoes you were almost dressed the same as your fairy, a real Goth Chick indeed, hahaha.. But seriously though it was a real shame you didn't mention asking to extend your workshop today, I would have been happy to. If you come to a Christmas Fairy Workshop let me know if you want a double booking. Sx"
