Jayne Towndrow reviewed: Cyanotype Printing Workshop

"I did this workshop yesterday with a friend and an 'influencer'. It was a really successful workshop and we all took home some impressive prints. The studio is just the right size for four students and Emma is a good teacher, telling students just the right amount of information. There is something magical, to me, in the printing of images and cyanotype printing is a very accessible. I'll definitely be doing more at home. Thank you, Emma"

Mapp of London responded:

"Thank you for your review, Jayne - it was lovely to meet you and your friend and I'm delighted you both enjoyed the class. Good luck with your future creations!"

Denise Mulligan reviewed: Soy wax candlemaking workshop

"I was given this candle making experience workshop as a gift, what a great gift too. Juliette is a very experienced teacher, encouraging all 8 of us who attended to make a full size candle as well as a floating candle. I came away with enough knowledge, practice and confidence to start to make my own. I highly recommend candle making, understanding the principles of what makes a quality candle means I will no longer buy expensive candles that don’t burn well or aren’t a great fragrance, from now on I will make them. Thank you Juliette for sharing your expertise and lovely hospitality."

Hand Made by Juliette responded:

"Thank you Denise for your lovely review. I was delighted to teach such a wonderful group who were so enthusiastic and keen to learn. I feel sure that you will really enjoy all your future candlemaking and get great results"

Sarah Raeburn reviewed: Beginners Silver Jewellery Course

"I traveled from Scotland to do this course and it was well worth it!! The morning started with a welcome cup of coffee before heading out to the workshop to make a ring. Mark explained the techniques required and then set us off taking it step by step and even coping with us using different shapes and sizes of silver which required slightly different methods. A delicious lunch of soup and sandwiches was provided by Terri and much to my surprise they even coped with me being coeliac!! Thank you so much, it was much nicer than the ones I had brought with me!! The afternoon was for us to make some pieces that we wanted so I managed a bangle and a set of stud earrings! Terri bless her provided us with more hot drinks and biscuits to keep the concentration going and before we knew it it was all over! The day was great fun, informative and I'm now the best kitted girl in town!! Thank you both very much."

Steve reviewed: Hand forged rustic knife course

"What an awesome time today making a knife at Highfield forge. Andy and Dave were absolutely superb and explained everything step by step in a very clear way. Even when I forgot some instructions they were on hand to give advice and point me back in the right direction. The end result was me walking out of the forge with my own knife and sheath which was so satisfying. I will definitely be back to have a go at the axe making! Highly recommend anyone giving this course a go, well worth every penny!"

Joel Ashton reviewed: Spoon carving workshop with Fazey Woodcraft

"The 1 day course from Fazey Woodcraft was brilliant! Jack’s knowledge of wood and carving is huge and his approach to the course was perfect. Letting us learn our own mistakes but also helping at the right times so we didn’t ruin what we were making. This workshop was a great thing to do. Carving is very therapeutic! I would highly recommend this to anyone, even if they don’t consider themselves to be a practical person."

Fazey Woodcraft responded:

"Thanks Joel. ?"

Emily reviewed: Nuno felt a silk scarf in fine merino wools and silks with Judi Binks

"This was my second course with Judi and I brought my friend along for a birthday treat. It was super to learn another felting skill - quite different from the landscape felting last time. The nuno involved more care in planning the design and choosing the colours as I wanted to make a scarf to complement my usual colours of outfits. The actual process was quite technical because a scarf has to be well finished and made to last. Judi kept us going with lots of coffee, cakes and a delicious home cooked lunch. It was a very memorable day, as it was both fun and educational as well. Judi is an inspirational teacher and always helpful and quick to problem solve if there is a snag. It was a grand day. Thank you!"

Felting in Devon responded:

"Hi Emily, I'm so lucky to have such an appreciative student like you. Thank you. So glad you enjoyed this course. See you soon. Best wishes. Judi"

Martha D reviewed: Nuno felt a silk scarf in fine merino wools and silks with Judi Binks

"Nuno felting was an unknown craft to me before yesterday but I was soon swept away with the colours and textures of the wools and silk fibres and settled to design a scarf to suit me! Judi was funny, helpful and patient. She made it enjoyable and easy to follow, but shared her extensive knowledge. I had a totally absorbing and creative day. The scarf will be worn with pride. Thanks Judi."

Felting in Devon responded:

"Martha, thank you for your kind review and I'm so pleased that nuno is no longer an unknown nuno! I'm delighted you enjoyed it and you certainly achieved a stunning scarf. Thanks again. Judi"

Barbara Brady reviewed: Macrame wallhanging workshop

"Great time today on Sarah's course. Never known 3 hours to fly by so fast. Learnt a lot about different cords to use for different projects and although I'd done a little bit of macramé Sarah helped me overcome my difficulty with one of the knots I wasn't very good at. Well worth it and came away with a piece of macramé to be proud of. Great teacher so don't hesitate if you're thinking about going on one of her courses."
