Nicola Hunter-Dale reviewed: Lampworking Workshop: Half Day Beginners Workshop

"A fabulous course with good clear and patient teaching skills. Suzanne was very warm and welcoming and her work space is lovely. There was a lot of freedom of choice with colours, design and I was made to feel very relaxed. Time disappeared far too quickly- I hadn't realised how much I'd been concentrating. A very mindful afternoon of being totally absorbed making lovely jewellery."

Suzanne Jewellery responded:

"So pleased you enjoyed your workshop. Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review. Suzanne"

Nigel Richardson reviewed: Landscape Photography Lessons for Beginners

"Frank has an air about him that immediately puts you at ease. His knowledge of the subject and locations are excellent and his ability to adapt to the prevailing conditions was impressive - considering we had all the elements that could be thrown at us over the weekend workshop (and despite the weather preventing any night photography) I thorough enjoyed the experience, including the wonderful accommodation and food - I will be back!"

Abi C reviewed: Candlemaking for Beginners

"What a fun and informative course! I attended the workshop today and it has improved my own basic candle making skills and has given me a lot more confidence in what I am doing. Creating different types of candles has also been an invaluable experience. Rob is a great teacher- patient and knowledgeable and certainly made me feel welcome and comfortable enough to ask the many questions I had. Thanks so much for a great day!"

Charlie M reviewed: Stone set rings workshop

"I recently attended a stone setting course with Joanne and had such a great time ! Jo was calm, sweet and attentive. There were 8 of us on the course and I didn't feel as though I had to wait for Jo to assist me at any point, she was on hand each time I had a question. I learnt a lot and have already begun practicing at home. Such a lovely day. I would very highly recommend Jo and her courses :)"

Joanne Tinley Jewellery responded:

"Thank you for your kind review Charlie. It was lovely to meet you, and I am impressed that you made not one but two stone set rings! They look beautiful together. Keep up the practice at home!"

Helen Vickers reviewed: One day leather work course - small leather goods

"A big thank you to Jason and Louise for a fantastic two day leather bag course. The course was a Christmas present from my husband. I had never done any leather bag making before and I found the course brilliant and I got to take away with me a beautiful leather bag which I will treasure. Jason has so much knowledge and experience and made the experience both fun and rewarding. He is very inspirational when he talks about his journey to starting his business. The atmosphere in the workshop was very relaxed and the music was fab. Lunch provided was superb too. Jason and Louise were so patient and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I can’t recommend this course enough and I hope to come back and do another course soon. Please please think about doing a course to make a clutch bag!"

Nan reviewed: Week-day (Three Day) Bobbin Lace Making - Daytime Mixed Lace Workshops (Stoke d'Abernon, Surrey).

"Having recently attended one of Tina's workshops, I am thrilled to be 'up-and-running' again with my lace-making. Tina was able to assess my skill level and with her encouragement, patience and instruction I was able to embark on a piece I was keen to make. It was a most inspiring and uplifting day for me and I look forward to attending more of her classes."

simon hatch reviewed: Knife making weekend Gloucestershire

"Me and three friends have just spent the weekend on the knife making course. We have all made knives and sheaths that far exceeded what we believed we were capable of making. Arian is a gifted teacher. His knowledge of his craft is far reaching, his help invaluable and his enthusiasm is captivating. He guides and encourages his students all day long without 'taking over' your work but steps in to help just long enough to keep you on track. I can't rate Arian as a teacher, or the course, highly enough. We will take another of his courses in the future."

Nailsworth Community Workshop responded:

"Hi Simon, Thank you for your comments. It was a pleasure helping you to achieve such good work. I've enjoyed responding to the group's individual ideas and wishes whilst making sure we remain within the principles of this craft, as produce such a wide range of well-made knives. It was also great that you all designed and made knives which you will use frequently, the work improves further as it gets used and acquires that unique weathered look and feel. Thank you again for your hard work and positive attitude and hope to see you soon again."

Can't wait to go back and do some more!"

Sue Enticott reviewed: Two leather long stitch journals in a day

"A truly stimulating and fun day. Lynne is a hugely impressive and accessible teacher. Not only does she have huge talent and knowledge herself but she is a natural communicator. Her thorough preparation beforehand ensured that all the materials were ready in front of us, so not a moment of the day was wasted. I am not naturally gifted in the handicraft department but Lynne made sure I succeeded with very clear instructions and helpful notes, so I never felt out of my depth. We all finished the day with each of us having made two beautiful leather bound books - I was so chuffed and couldn't quite believe I'd actually made them. And neither could my daughter when I gave one of them to her."

Freddie Raymond reviewed: Chair making on Camb/Suffolk border

"I booked this course having been inspired by Bill's Introduction to Woodworking course and it delivered everything I had hoped for and more. The days were well-paced, low-pressure and offered lots of variety. When there were multiple options for how to achieve an effect, Bill would often take us through them, offering plenty of insight and useful advice. By the end, I was able to feel a real sense of achievement at having created the chair, but also some independence - as a complete novice except for this and the Introduction course, I still felt by the end that I could replicate the process decently and carry the skills over to many more woodworking projects to come. I would highly recommend this course. Tremendous fun!"
