Maker's bio

Cilrath Acre is based on Cilrath Fach farm close to Narberth. We run a productive and regenerative growing space, bringing together community and connecting people to nature, the land and locally grown food. Our aim is to take positive action, in response to the climate emergency whilst addressing food poverty and building community resilience. We provide at least 50% of the produce we grow to Pembrokeshire Foodbank, on a weekly basis during the harvesting season (approximately June to February). Since early 2024 we have also been running varied learning activities on the land on themes of growing food, permaculture, land-based skills and food preparation and preservation.

Rose Coleman reviewed: Children's Science with Nature

"The course was really interesting and fun. My granddaughter loved it and came away with a better understanding of the connection between science and nature. The setting was lovely and all the children looked like they were having a great time. I also enjoyed it and learnt something myself."

Cilrath Acre responded:

"Thanks so much for reviewing the workshop on the booking platform, Rose. It helps us be more visible on Craft Courses too. I'm so pleased you and A both enjoyed it!, Karen x"

Tim Weaver reviewed: Soil health and amendments with biofertilizers

"Whilst I knew a little bit about the microbes that inhabit the soil, I knew nothing about the soil amendments and fertilizers that can be made relatively easily and cheaply. Penni was a engaging tutor who explained how they are prepared and their benefits for plants and soil. I enjoyed the course and look forward to trying out some of the products that we learned about. I would recommend this course."

Cilrath Acre responded:

"Thank you so much for this lovely feedback, Tim. I'll pass your comments on to Peni. I hope we may see you again sometime. We'll be running some composting courses in the autumn, so keep an eye out here and on our Facebook page. Best wishes, Karen"
