Soil health and amendments with biofertilizers
Description
Welcome to the wonderful world of microbial life in the soil! While many gardeners may already know about improving the chemistry and physical structure of soil, there are also huge benefits to improving the microbial life that thrives in healthy soil. This produces healthier plant growth and take up of minerals, also improving the nutritional quality of the food we grow. This workshop will teach you the secrets of how to enrich soil life and make 'garden amendments' using things we can find in the natural world. The workshop will be led by experienced grower and tutor, Peni Ediker. Peni will teach attendees how to make simple bio-fertilizers, how to apply them and how to improve microbial life in the soil.
What's included in the price?
Please bring a packed lunch and gardening gloves, and wear suitably warm/waterproof clothing and footwear. All other workshop materials are provided.

Cilrath Acre is based on Cilrath Fach farm close to Narberth. We run a productive and regenerative growing space, bringing together community and connecting people to nature, the land and locally grown food. Our aim is to take positive action, in response to the climate emergency whilst addressing food poverty and building community resilience. We provide at least 50% of the produce we grow to Pembrokeshire Foodbank, on a weekly basis during the harvesting season (approximately June to February). Since early 2024 we have also been running varied learning activities on the land on themes of growing food, permaculture, land-based skills and food preparation and preservation.
