Adam Browne reviewed: Spoon carving workshop with Fazey Woodcraft

"The spoon carving workshop was given as a birthday gift. It was awesome to meet Jack and hear about his passion for woodcraft, which definitely came through during the course with his teaching and advice. I thoroughly enjoyed the course and was proud to take home my finished spoon. All the tools and resources were of great quality and the location was lovely too. I would definitely recommend Jack and Fazey Woodcraft to anyone interested in doing something different or learning a new skill. Thank you ?"

Fazey Woodcraft responded:

"Thanks Adam!"

Alison reviewed: Stonecarving Weekend, Gloucestershire Cotswolds

"Excellent tuition, allowing us to make individual pieces of work independently. A wide range of tools available were demonstrated so we could make our own informed choices. Constant one-to-one guidance and support, but not pressured or overbearing. Very friendly teacher and lovely ro work with other people so you are able to share successes and ideas, as well as make new friends. Highly recommended."

"Geraldine was super, she is patient and understanding. She interpreted our skill level brilliantly and still encouraged us to achieve higher than we thought possible. Thoroughly recommend any of the courses that she runs, the groups are small so you get the time you need to achieve a great make. Thank you."

Barry Bailey reviewed: Make a Welsh stick chair

"For more years than I care to remember, I have wanted to do a course like this, in an environment reminiscent of my childhood many years ago, using the basic tools of our forefathers. Finally, on a whim, having seen Ben's advert, and at the age of 76 yrs, I decided it was now or never, and decided to book this course. I am so glad that I did. The woods in which we were based, in Redwood Valley, were of a maturity rarely encountered these days. The commitment, depth of knowledge, and dedication to his course participants, by Ben, likewise. The other similar-minded people on this course were an absolute pleasure to be with, and will never be forgotten. My one regret - I didn't do this sooner."

Scotty h reviewed: Eco Soy Wax Container Candles

"My 2 friends asnd I loved our afternoon making candles with Wendy yesterday. Wendy has all the technical know how if you want to make your own candles in the future, but is just as happy to guide you through the basics of making 5-6 candles during the session. A relaxed atmosphere, punctuated with tea and biscuits while the candles set. My favourite is a geranium one in a silver tin. A perfect session for friends or family and any age over about 12 I would estimate (check with Wendy!), given the use of hot wax. I am not remotely ‘craft-y’ but very much enjoyed it and would highly recommend."

Michael McCarthy reviewed: 2 day axe making course

"Had an absolutely brilliant time up at the forge a couple weeks ago making a Damascus steel axe. The axe came out beautifully and it’s really clear Joss and Gary are absolute professionals. I’d have paid the money just to watch them work but they were excellent and showing you how to get stuck in and do as much of the work as u can even as a beginner. Would definitely recommend this to anyone from one person interested in learning the skills or bigger groups looking for a fun few days. Will definitely be going back at some point in the future."

Deepa reviewed: ‘Winter dream ' wool painting face-to-face textile art course in Worcestershire

"Having done lots of wool crafts, I was very intrigued by this new way of using wool fibres. I fell in love with wool painting or wool 'watercolour' technique which allows me to create some beautiful wool fibre pictures. I really like the therapeutic process of manipulating natural fibres, achieving fantastic new colours and effects. Thank you, Raya, for your inspirational course and your guidance. I recommend this course to anyone."

Allison Nicholls reviewed: Quilting weekend, Wetherby

"I booked on to the 2-day quilting course with only a few weeks experience of sewing so was a little nervous. However, Jacqueline was an excellent tutor and I learnt so much over the weekend and came away with a beautiful quilt. Jacqueline was so helpful, and demonstrated each step, which we could then carry out ourselves. The venue was ideal, in a lovely location and we were provided with a lovely home-cooked lunch each day, plus plenty of cake! I would thoroughly recommend Jacqueline’s quilting course and am looking to book on to another in the near future."

Bee-spoke Quilts responded:

"Thank you for your kind comments Jayne. It is a privilege to pass on the skills of this heritage craft to keen newcomers like yourself. Quilting is addictive!"

Rebecca Herd reviewed: 4 week repeating throwing pottery course

"Fantastic beginner course introducing you to pottery wheel throwing. I’ve done some clay work in the past, but never used a potters wheel before. We learnt how to centre on the wheel, form a pot, pull up the sides, how to make different shapes and even how to make a plate. All materials and firing are included and Martin will fire a selection of the pots you make for you to take home. Very chilled environment at the Barlick Art & Craft Drop-In Studio and Martin is a fantastic teacher. I enjoyed it so much that I’ve done the course twice now. Highly recommend!"

Roger Moore reviewed: Beginners 1-day 1-2-1 woodturning workshop for 1 person

"I was made to feel welcome by Simon and Louise the minute I stepped out of my car. Very professional and friendly tuition, I couldn't have asked for better. Though I had some idea of what I was doing I still learned an awful lot in one day. I would recommend this course to anyone even vaguely interested in woodturning - they'd soon get the bug. Wouldn't mind going back next year for a refresher and upgrade."

Blended Monkey - pottery - woodturning - green woodworking - pole lathe - throwing responded:

"Hi Rog, Thank you so much for a lovely review; we really enjoyed the day too and we're glad you learned a lot. Keep those tools sharp and happy turning! -- Simon & Louise"
