Description
An immersive, hands on class where you’ll transform a plain steel billet into a fully functional axe that you’ve forged and shaped, heat treated and assembled yourself. Techniques you will learn include; Use of hand tools (tongs hammers fullers etc) Use of heavy machinery (powerhammer and hydraulic press) The fundamentals of heat treatment; Normalising Hardening (quenching) And tempering Suitable for total beginners and intermediate smiths alike or those looking to further their tool making skills
