Victoria Oaten reviewed: Rag rug/rag wreath making day in North Herefordshire

"Brilliant course, I am really pleased with what I was able to achieve on the day. We learnt the main rag rug making techniques plus had a go at a few other techniques. I love being able to make something useful and creative out of old rags. Jenni was really nice and obviously very skilled. I'm off to chop up things to make more rugs!"

Jenni's Rag Rugs responded:

"So glad you enjoyed the day and that you feel pleased to use recycling creatively. I look forward to seeing your finished seat mat (keep on chopping things up....)"

Victoria reviewed: 1-to-1 Beginners Leatherworking Workshop

"I have enjoyed a packed leatherworking day with Pipa, her guinea pigs and cat. There was lots to cover in a day, from what leather is and is not, to working with its properties, tooling, dyeing and stitching. Pipa’s enthusiasm and expertise were shaped to work with what I wanted to get out of the day. Pipa was generous with her time and skills. As a complete beginner in this area the day worked really well as a introduction to all things with leather."

Jainy reviewed: Knitting workshops in Leeds City Centre

"My husband and I learnt crocheting in the 2 hours workshop. We are both beginners and the workshop helped us to start off in crocheting by providing clear understanding of the basics. Ann is a great teacher, providing clear directions and very patient which made it a comfortable and enjoyable experience. The in person guidance helps a lot as you can clear all doubts that keep arising. 2 hours time slot is just sufficient, not too short or long. So would definitely recommend it to people who are interested in learning knitting skill. I have just finished making my first project - a hat and it feels wonderful to have achieved it. So thank you Ann!"

Leeds Central Faith and Light responded:

"Hi Jainy, Thank you for your kind words. I am glad you both found the workshop a helpful and enjoyable experience and that the 2 hours is sufficient. Well done on completing your hat - you're obviously "hooked" Hopefully more projects will follow. Good luck! Kind regards Ann"

Steve reviewed: Bronzed Giacometti style Figurative sculpture workshop. Sculpt your Pet or Child or anything that inspires you.

"I was given a "Giacometti-style" sculpture making course as a present and I have to say that it was fantastic! Di was great fun to chat with whilst she taught me how to make the sculpture. Di was very open to ideas on what I could make and helped me think through what was feasible in a day! I am really pleased with the final piece that I created and and really liked Di's approach - as she guided me on how to do each step but didn't do the steps for me. She used a different sculpture to demonstrate the technique in a series of easy-to-follow steps and it worked really well. Di also did a great job of keeping my progress on track so that I had a finished product at the end of the session - and did this is a very relaxed way, helped along with coffee and biscuits!"

Art on the Edge responded:

"Thanks Steve. I really enjoyed meeting you and helping to create your Minotaur!!! Hope he's in pride of place."

Jenny reviewed: 2 day jewellery/silversmithing course - all materials provided

"A really enjoyable two day course. We are two lovely copper and silver pendants. Sue was a great teacher who encouraged us to learn by doing but at the same time was always there to help when we needed . We learnt skills such as sawing, filing, soldering and polishing. The first day we learnt these techniques and the second day we worked on our designs. It went at an enjoyable pace and we were not rushed. I recommend 10/10"

Sue O'Mara Art responded:

"Hi Jenny, thank you for the lovely words. It was a great weekend and all three of you did a wonderful job. Good students - gold star! Look forward to seeing you again one day. Best wishes, Sue"

Actually my friend is so impressed with our results she wants me to take her along as well next time. So a big thumbs up and thank you ???"

Ian reviewed: One day leather work course - small leather goods

"Brilliant 2 day course I really enjoyed this course and cannot recommend it highly enough. The relaxed and informal teaching style made the course a pleasure to attend. No question was too small or was ignored (and I had a few!). There were a number of options for the project and the choices, colours, styles and look of the project were totally mine (advice was given based on many years of experience). The workshop was large and well equipped. When attending the course you need only turn up as everything is supplied. My wife loves the finished handbag. Thank you for a very enjoyable 2 days."

Daisy reviewed: Glass fusing workshop - 2 hours (am)

"I was bought this workshop as a gift and was the only attendee that morning which meant I had 1 to 1 tuition and loads of help which I think is amazing for the price. I enjoyed creating in the cozy workshop with my tea and homemade cake and made a piece just as lovely as I’d hoped. I’d recommend this course to anyone, it was very accessible and personable."

Fired Glass responded:

"Thank you Daisy for your review. We aim to provide a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere to be creative in. As you mentioned we do not open bookings to the general public which means if you book a place for 1 person or a group of your friends you will be the only ones on the course. Thank you for your recommendation, that means a lot to us. Regards John and Jill."
