Victoria reviewed: Basket making for beginners using traditional willow basketry techniques

"Had a great day. Tutors were very helpful, kind and gave great guidance. This was the first time I've ever made a basket and I am now much more aware of the skill and energy that goes into making one. I got to make and take home a fairly huge basket which could house a small dog and I am very pleased with it! Very tasty lunch. All in all, a great day. I definitely recommend this course."

"I had a lovely 1:1 day with Sally. Having a bit of silversmithing experience, I was interested to learn how to work with this very different silver alloy, and as this is Sally’s speciality, the day achieved just that. Having learnt to anneal, fuse and clean Argentium, I feel much better prepared to start on my own project. Sally was friendly and flexible, and the atmosphere comfortable and relaxed. Generous and delicious refreshments, although I was too full after the sandwich and salad to try the cakes! Easy to find, easy to park, great communication with Sally throughout, and very good value."

"I had an excellent day with Allison - she is really well versed in the technical side of making your own cosmetics but she made it very easy to understand. We had a lovely day and I would recommend the experience to any one with an interest in the subject or just wanting an interesting day out. I have a specific interest in re-creating a product that is no longer available and although it was not part of the course Allison has done a lot of research into what I might need and how to go about replicating it. Thank you so much."

"What a fantastic way to spend a day. Sarah explained everything in detail from cutting the glass to how it changes in the firing process. Then there was a sample of stained glass, even using a soldering iron! The day was finished off with copper enamelling which was amazing to see how the enamelling changed in the firing process. Sarah was always on hand if you had any questions or to point you in the right direction. All part of the 3 in 1 day was a delicious Ploughman's lunch too! Would highly recommend to anyone as no prior experience is needed."

"A relaxed and pleasurable 2 days observing and painting flowers. Georgina helped us to look carefully. She shared her water colour techniques and offered us much encouragement. I came away inspired to practise and improve after seeing some of Georgia's own outstanding artworks. We had coffees, teas, cakes and biscuits and a lot of fun! After painting anemones in the studio, I've come home and tackled irises!"

"What a fantastic day! I thought I was booking onto a group class and was very pleasantly surprised to find it was a private session for just our party of two! Dave says he much prefers it this way and I do too as it meant he could be very attentive to us and give us all the help and demos we needed He was incredibly knowledgeable, and gave lots of tips and advice and even prepared an info pack for us to take away so we can do it in future. The course was tailored to what we hoped to get out of it. Dave's a top guy and was really friendly and so easy to get along with. Could not recommend the course more!"

"Nick is a friendly, knowledgable and patient teacher! He taught my wife and me to make spoons from a wood billet from scratch. I would certainly recommend this to anyone who has any interest in wood carving. I had never done anything like it before but thoroughly enjoyed it. My wife also really enjoyed it, and found it different to whittling which she has some prior experience with. Using axes and a draw-horse was particularly enjoyable!"
