Celia reviewed: Silver jewellery making class for beginners

"A wonderful day, learning lots of new skills. Best wishes. Celia"

Salt Way Silver responded:

"Thank you Celia, It was a good day and a wonderful experience to take your carefully planned ideas and turn them into reality. As you found out during the day - it's not always as easy as you think it is to make designs with tiny pieces, so hopefully now you will use your new skills to produce some of your own jewellery - and appreciate the work involved. Well done and thank you for choosing Salt Way Silver. Jonathan"

Rebecca reviewed: Silver jewellery taster

"We had such a wonderful morning learning how to use silver clay. A beautiful craft in a idyllic location. My daughters aged 14 and 11 really enjoyed the session and we’re thrilled with what they could produce in the time. Louise was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She explained everything so clearly and we were able to make some stunning pieces which are totally unique. I loved that we were given a chain so we could wear our creations straight away. Would highly recommend."

Steve Mills reviewed: 1-2-1 Practical Leather Tuition & Consultancy with Georgie Tym

"I spent a day with Georgie last week and found it enormously enjoyable and useful. I have some skills (cutting and hand-stitching) and have made a number of small leather items (belts, book covers and so on). I told Georgie in advance of the course that I wanted to move on to making bags as well as refreshing a number of important basic skills. She tailored the day very well for me, covering all of the issues I wanted to address. I was able to develop basic skills on the leather sewing machine and to construct a backpack using leather I had taken along. The bag has been a massive hit with my wife and a real boost to my cred as a maker in leather! Georgie was great fun to work with too - generous with her time and her skills. I heartily recommend!!"

Hands of Tym responded:

"It was great to meet you Steve and lovely to spend time working on your bag with you - it was expertly crafted! Thanks for the kind words, best wishes Georgie"

Phil reviewed: Welding with confidence

"Well organised, I learned a good deal in a short time. Whilst I'm not going to pass any welding exams the main thing was the enthusiasm for welding which I gained through attending this course and the desire to do far more welding after this. The location is great and the facilities are great. Would recommend to anyone looking to gain enthusiasm for welding."

Teresa Brown reviewed: Beginners half-day pairs pottery / ceramics workshop

"We can’t praise Louise and Simon enough for what they do! We had a couples pottery experience and it was fabulous. Not only did we learn and make lots, we had fun, got messy and had the freedom to explore our own creativity. Louise is so patient and kind, we had such fun with her and felt like we’d known her years. We will definitely be back and I would highly recommend Blended Monkey to people of all crafting abilities. Another bonus was that the premises is easily accessible and there is a toilet within stepping distance making it disabled friendly too! Thank you Louise - we loved our day!!"

Blended Monkey - pottery - woodturning - green woodworking - pole lathe - throwing responded:

"Guys, thank you for your lovely review! It's a pleasure having lovely students like you in the studio :-). I'm so pleased you were happy with the accessibility and that you felt comfortable during your session. You're both very creative people and it was a joy to teach you some clay forming techniques and see what you produced. It's always lovely to see students relax into the studio environment and just enjoy the feel and fun you can have with clay. I'm just as excited as you are to see the finished creations fresh from the kiln - it's always a daunting moment opening the kiln once it's cooled down as you're never quite sure what you'll find :-). But I'm sure you'll be pleased with the outcome. Thanks again for the lovely review!! "

"A brilliant and rewarding day. Chris demonstrates each stage before you do it yourself. And is there at your side if you feel the need for additional guidance. The perfect balance between learning and doing it yourself, quickly building your confidence to perform many different skills to create a beautiful keyring keepsake. I spent the afternoon making a twisted poker with tapered scroll handle. Chris is very friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend the day to anyone."

JaneG reviewed: Forge your own silver spoon, two day course

"I loved the spoon forging course. Charlotte was very supportive and encouraging and clearly explained all the different skills required to make my silver spoon. I did ache a little after the first day, as I’m not used to wielding a hammer, but it was great fun and Charlotte was with me every step of the process. I was amazed I managed to forge a beautiful and useable spoon from a relatively small ingot of silver in just two days. I have learned a lot of new skills and surprised myself. Charlotte is a great tutor, very friendly and thoughtful."

Charlotte Tollyfield Contemporary Bespoke Silverware responded:

"Thank you so much for your review, Jane. I'm so pleased you enjoyed the course, you did a great job and produced a lovely spoon. It was a pleasure to welcome you to the workshop. Best Wishes, Charlotte. "
