Lewis Wright reviewed: Pole lathe turning taster day: spindle turning

"My father and I had a great time wood turning with Maurice and are incredibly happy with the work we produced on the day. Maurice was friendly, helpful and encouraging throughout and very knowledgable in his subject. It was a great day overall and great introduction to green wood working and turning being able to create a product with purely hand tools and old techniques was fascinating and definitely something I would want to do again. A massive thank you to Maurice!"

Touch Wood responded:

"Thank you Lewis, it was good meeting you and the others, and special thanks to you for your insights on the online and social media world's! "

Lydia reviewed: Upholstery/cushion making

"Jo was absolutely brilliant! I was a complete beginner and she was really patient with me and went through everything really carefully. I finished a large piano stool in a weekend using traditional upholstery techniques and it felt like a huge achievement. I would recommend this course for anyone who might think they're interested in upholstery but are a bit nervous to try it. It was money really well spent. There were only four of us in the workshop, the group was lovely and supportive and we had so much fun! Thanks Jo! Can't wait to give it another go."

What Jo did next responded:

"Thanks Lydia! You did a great job - totally restored that piano stool to a luxurious standard! Hope to see you again sometime... "

There were lots of different glass materials available to choose from to achieve different end results. The venue was good although parking might be an issue if the course is fully booked. Caroline and Kate reviewed: 'Art of Stained Glass' - Oldbury, Birmingham

"My sister and I did the 2 day course where we learned to paint, cut and lead glass with Jamal, whilst learning a bit about the famous Hardman Victorian glass studio where Jamal previously worked. It was a wonderful experience watching our panels gradually form in his tiny workshop. He was endlessly patient. Don’t worry if you can’t draw as of course you trace the picture through the glass and he has lots of beautiful old designs to use or inspire. Thankyou"

My daughters aged 14 and 11 really enjoyed the session and we’re thrilled with what they could produce in the time. Louise was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic.
