"I was so happy to find this course in my area and enjoyed it very much. I had never cut a piece of glass before so was amazed at doing it and with such lovely coloured glass was a bonus. I was grateful for all the help I received and I am enjoying my first piece of stained glass work. It's settled in nicely where I can enjoy its lovely colours."

Simply Smallholding responded:

"Thank you for your review. I am delighted to hear that you enjoyed indulging in the range of glass we had as we work hard to provide a range of colours and textures. Mike Double reviewed: Glass blowing course - taster

"Had another great day out at Chew Valley Glass. I have been hooked on having a class of glass blowing. The experience was so enjoyable and fun with all the experience and patience of Chris. Every step of the process was explained and helped to achieve a remarkable end product we created together. The shapes and colours are created then patience is needed to see the end product. After cooling they are yours to take home to show friends. Hopefully they will encourage people to book a course and enjoy the experience as I have."

Jane Morgans reviewed: Needle felted hares for two in Hebden Bridge

"I had a really enjoyable day and Jo was an excellent tutor. She was very patient and encouraging and I was delighted to be able to make a hare I was proud of in one day . I worked steadily but without the pressure I’ve felt on some courses I’ve been in . Harold Hare has been much admired by my friends and family. I would highly recommend this course even for a beginner as Jo clearly demonstrates and explains what to do and is on hand at all times to help . I will definitely be doing another needle felting day with Jo and also have a go at my own project at home ."

Lisa Graham reviewed: Hare Sculpture workshop with Jo Garden Art in beautiful Norfolk/Suffolk

"Set in beautiful gardens, in peaceful countyside, this course did wonders for my wellbeing. Each step of creating our hare was rewarding and Jo was extremely good at demonstrating the stages when required and moving us on. Jo and her husband are very warm and welcoming and there was an abundance of tea, coffee and biscuits throughout the day which you could take whilst walking through the mowed pathways in the gardens. I am delighted with my final hare and would highly recommend the course."

Jo Garden Art responded:

"Thank you Lisa. I love all the stages of the hare sculpting process - each one is fun in it’s own way! We mow different path routes around the grounds each year - the dogs use them as their race track. Jo x "

"Great upholstery course making small footstools, Jo was amazing, giving us step by step, jargon free instructions (and notes to take home) she taught us techniques transferable to making simple chairs, headboards and larger footstools, and I actually feel confident enough to attempt these! Thoroughly enjoyed the day ‘making’, not to mention the plentiful hot drinks, homemade cakes and lovely company. Grappenhall Heys Garden is a beautiful place in itself, and the perfect backdrop to this fab course, lunch at the cafe was lovely. Will likely book another craft course with Jo. Thank you so much!"

Lucien , Harry, Alex and Bump reviewed: Pole lathe turning taster day: bowl turning

"You don’t need to be into sustainable living or ancient craft revival or even woodland dwelling to enjoy this days’ activity. You can however enjoy the short walk from the village hall car park through the woodland to the small clearing that Maurice and Chris have created. Being greeted with a warm smile and freshly brewed tea curtesy of the open fire Maurice and Chris’s enthusiasm was evident. The setup of pole lathes under canvas was suitably rustic, providing a light and well ventilated work space. Yes some degree of physical fitness is required but not as you might expect, the hands took the brunt of the load, while the legs though working more or less constantly faired much better. Being guided through the process, anyone can be suitably pleased with themselves as they see the bowls emerge under their own hand. There’s plenty of time out too relax and refuel, be careful though as you might just become hooked on this woodland life."

Amanda Graham reviewed: Experimental Printmaking inspired by Mid Century Design in Derbyshire

"The Experimental Printmaking workshop was great fun and really fabulous learning experience - I have only done a little printmaking, so it felt amazing to discover the fabulous pieces that can be produced using printing techniques, and the versatility of the medium. This workshop focused on Mid Century Design as a source of inspiration for our lino cut prints, but we were free to experiment with how we made and used the cuts for printing, which produced really exciting results! Liz is a wonderful teacher, the workshop allowed just the right amount of time for each new skill to be practised, in a beautiful studio with plenty of tea and biccys and a lovely relaxed atmosphere. I'd definitely recommend Liz's workshops- I did the geli print workshop a few weeks ago and was very keen to return for another one- and will do again in the future :-) . Liz is ultra careful to make sure everything is Covid safe, groups are small, studio well ventilated and participants socially distanced (in a friendly way!), so ideal for people who may be nervous about attending workshops for this reason."

Liz Wellby - Artist, Teacher & Maker responded:

"Hi Amanda, Thanks so much for letting me know about your day; I have a big smile on my face. Printmaking is such a great process, with lots of potential for experimentation and exploration, plus the combining of processes. I know you are going to have lots of fun. Happy printing Liz Wellby"
