kay wardman reviewed: Glass Fusing and enamel painting on glass

"I attended the one day course with 2 friends, we had a wonderful day, Jane gave us the opportunity to paint with enamels in glass and also make glass panels for fusing. We had a delicious lunch too, and cannot wait to see our projects once fused. I would recommend this course to anyone especially if lacking in confidence as Jane encouraged us to channel our hidden creativity"

Peter Carr reviewed: Blacksmithing Introduction courses in Yorkshire and the North East

"A fantastic day out! I would highly recommend the course to anyone that has even the slightest interest or curiosity around the blacksmith trade. The welcome on arrival was very friendly and everyone at the forge was made to feel comfortable. Both Adrian and Andy's knowledge is second to none and both are very friendly and helpful during the entire process. A big shout out most also go to the food and the amazing Debbie, who made sure that no one was without food or drink throughout the day. It must also be said, that the food was amazing! Don't go on a full stomach!"

Tracy & Caroline reviewed: Glass Fusing and enamel painting on glass

"Myself and a friend did the full day glass fusing course and we absolutely loved it. Both total beginners but we used a variety of techniques and made 2 pieces we can’t wait to see after they’ve been fired. Jane was very patient, helpful when needed but we were totally hands on and as previous comments said we cut glass, ground it and also used the glass powders and frit. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it."

Carole E. reviewed: Bespoke Contemporary Fine Art Encaustic Wax Workshop.

"I had a fantastic time on a two-day workshop as Lyn taught me how to make art using encaustic wax, as well as photo encaustic. She was very warm, highly empathetic, and welcoming, understood very quickly what style and approach I was hoping to achieve, and I've rarely seen an artist so adept at quickly changing style to suit the needs of another. We went from complete abstraction to fully representational and her suggestions, gently proffered, made me realise how much in tune with other people's work she is. She starts off by discovering your intentions, if any. Mine were specific and I wasn't sure she'd be willing to work on them, but I couldn't have asked for a more knowledgeable, resourceful, and creative mentor! She has a wide range of wax/non-wax artistic materials to hand, which was a great help. I enjoyed every moment of the workshop and her company, and she's even introduced me to new techniques outside encaustic (working with hessian) as well as resources in the community that I didn't know existed. I couldn't recommend her more highly and hope to return."

Contemporary Encaustic Wax Workshop with Lyn Kirkland responded:

"Thank you Carole for your very generous review. I am so pleased that you enjoyed the weekend and are already experimenting further. I enjoy working with my students to realise their ideas, and I am so glad that I achieved that for you. Hope to meet you again in the future. Kind regards Lyn P.S. Your review has taken me to ‘platinum’ level teaching award….woo hoo! "
