Claire Everitt reviewed: Linocut printmaking in Cornwall

"Linocut printing with Olivia Clifton-Bligh. I had a very enjoyable 2 days on the course as an absolute beginner. Olivia is knowledgeable, enthusiastic and inspiring - there are good materials/ tools/ ideas for lino-cut projects - she showed and encouraged us to try several different methods of linocutting and helped us to rectify or adapt mistakes. Everyone came away with lovely results after the 1 or 2 days. I will do the course again and would recommend it to anyone thinking of having a go."

Nancy Leakey reviewed: 2-day mosaic workshops in West London

"I attended Sarah's two day weekend Mosaics course 25/26 March 2023 as a complete beginner. I walked in to being very impressed by how organised Sarah was and her vast choice of materials. Sarah is a brilliant teacher and was so encouraging, making sure everyone had enough of her time and starting completely from the beginning for those who needed it. I decided, somewhat ambitiously, to make a turtle trivet and Sarah drew the basic outline of the turtle for me when I was struggling. I am so looking forward to my next project with the knowledge I now have and have booked another course with Sarah later in the year. The whole experience was very enjoyable and I feel inspired to explore my creative side further! Thank you, Sarah, for your expertise, warmth and encouragement."

Sarah Stanley Mosaics responded:

"Thank you so much for such a lovely glowing review Nancy - I really appreciate it. Thank you so much for your super enthusiasm during the course - you should be really proud of your lovely turtle - he is really very gorgeous and will look just right in your kitchen I am sure. Thanks again Nancy x "

Charlotte Farmer reviewed: Introduction to Natural Dyeing, Mere, Wiltshire

"I really enjoyed this course and would recommend it to anyone. It was so exciting seeing how the things we had dyed turned out, it felt like unwrapping Christmas presents. We dyed different materials to show how differently they took the dyes, then dipped them in modifying solutions to see how other colours could be produced like that. A marvellous beginner's course."

Elka responded:

"Thank you for coming Charlotte, and for the lovely review! It was a pleasure to meet you and i'm delighted that you enjoyed the day. Best wishes, Claudia"

Bruce reviewed: Woodturning tuition in Wiltshire

"As a novice woodturner I spent a day with Andy learning how to use the tools properly and perhaps more importantly how to sharpen them. Andy covered the subjects that his experience indicated novices need to learn but also answered many specific questions related to my own turning equipment and interests. Andy and his wife looked after me very well and the whole day was an enjoyable learning experience. I’m sure I will return for more of his wisdom following a period of consolidation and putting things into practice."

Andys woodworking responded:

"Thanks for your kind words Bruce It was a pleasure making your acquaintance Andy Mary Angus "

Terry Webb reviewed: Pyrography Wood Art Workshop in The Cotswolds - Gloucestershire/Wiltshire/Oxfordshire Border

"My name is Terry Webb and had the pleasure of attending a Pyrography Workshop at the Lechlade Craft Barn. There were 5 of us attending the workshop with the tutor Sharon. I found Sharon to be friendly with a very easy going and inclusive attitude to the workshop which made it a very pleasant atmosphere to work in. Pyrography as a craft was new to all of us, which worked well for all of us. Sharon was very knowledgeable and relaxed in the way she passed it onto us at the right level. By the end of the workshop we all had produced a piece of work that we all were very pleased with. I would recommend anyone who would like to try a new craft that is a little bit different to attend this workshop. Could you please ask Sharon which sander her husband would recommend, as I found the piece of wood that was provided to be very well prepared? Kind regards. Terry Webb. "

Lechlade Craft Barn responded:

"Hi Terry, The piece you made was beautiful! So glad you enjoyed the workshop and inspired to do more at home. I'll ask the tutor about the sander and send you a message. Karen "
