Pam Plus 1 !! reviewed: Creative metalwork and welding, scrap metal sculpture.

"We had an amazing day with Annie and Izzy, learnt so much and their approach to training made the day both fun and informative. They managed expectations well and jumped in to help when needed but left you alone enough to build your confidence with the equipment. Highly recommend this course for anyone who wants to try their hand at welding. Thank you ladies we had a great time. "

Giacomo reviewed: Introduction to Green Wood Furniture Making - 2 Day Course in South Devon

"I had a brilliant time learning about green woodworking techniques and steam bending with Peter and his assistant Toby. We were given the choice between two different types of stool and were encouraged to follow our own design tweaks as much as possible. I’ve come away from it feeling really positive about having a go at some more green woodwork (and woodwork in general). Peter and Toby were always encouraging and their professionalism and passion shone through at every stage of the process. I would wholeheartedly recommend a course with Peter and will hopefully book on another course in the future! Thank you!"

Peter Lanyon Furniture responded:

"Thank you Giacomo, really great to meet you. I'm glad you enjoyed the course. A really beautiful piece you made. Peter"

Lynn Ellison reviewed: Glass Experience Day: Try fused glass, stained glass and enamelling in 1 course!

"This was the best craft course we have ever done! We took part as a family of three with a teenager. We have tried several things before but never glass, so we thought the three element course would suit us well. Everything was perfect. Sarah communicated well before the day so that we fully understood where to park. We were met with a coffee and we made our way to the delightful workshop. Sarah is an excellent teacher (and I say that as a professional educator of adults myself). She explains things perfectly, gently points out if you are going off track, allows you full freedom to design your own pieces and is there to help whenever you need her. The equipment is excellent and the range of materials is outstanding. Unlike on some other craft courses, Sarah is generous with the materials and provides silver or copper findings for the jewellery. I love how Sarah let us do all the steps ourselves including putting things in and out of the kiln. In the middle of the day we stopped for an absolutely delectable lunch. This was ploughman’s style including lovely carved ham, cheeses, pate, salad, breads and tray cakes. Throughout the rest of the day, coffee, tea and cordial is frequently offered. The atmosphere was easy going but safety was a priority at all times. We came away relaxed having had a lovely day as a family and fully intending to return to do the pottery day next time. Thank you Sarah for a lovely day! "

Sarah Greening Glass responded:

Dayna reviewed: Pottery throwing course in the South Downs National Park (one day - one-to-one)

"I had a wonderful day at the Paddock Studio with Rowena! I went into this course with little throwing experience and was keen to develop my technique. Rowena was very enthusiastic and adapted the course to focus on the areas I wanted more help with. In just one day, I went from throwing small tealight holders to bowls and pourers I was really proud of. If you're looking for a little 'clay'cation, I cannot recommend Rowena's course enough! She is a brilliant teacher and wonderful company. I'm hoping to return again soon."

Pam and Jonathan reviewed: Beginners 1-day pairs woodturning workshop

"A great course for two novice woodturners. Simon’s teaching style was perfect for adult learners. Theoretical aspects were covered and sat well alongside the practical work. Demonstration of techniques was excellent so we were confident to get stuck in and have a go. Feedback and intervention was timely and appropriate. The atmosphere was very relaxed and we never felt pressured or hurried and the well equipped workshop made an excellent environment for learning. A lovely lunch and plenty of refreshments throughout the day. We were pleased to each go home with two lovely turned pieces and are confident that with plenty of practice and the help of Simon’s notes they’ll be the first of many."
