Meryl reviewed: Beginners 2 sterling silver stacking rings jewellery course

"Amazing course! I got a voucher for this for my birthday as I’ve been wanting to try jewellery making for years. And this exceeded my expectations. Sarah is super friendly and lovely and she hosts the class in her dedicated jewellery workshop which is a real crafters paradise. Sarah was really accommodating to me as I asked to have more artistic freedom with the rings so I could make something customised to my style. She was so informative, explaining every step of the process and demonstrating each step before supervising me. Sarah was very cautious about the more dangerous elements of the process and so I felt very safe. I particularly loved using her huge range of hammers, each of which created a different pattern/texture in the silver. And now I have a piece of jewellery that I love and made myself! 100% recommend and it’s inspired me to get a kit to continue this new passion! Thanks Sarah "

Suzzette Naylor reviewed: Macrame - Chunky Rope Necklaces

"I have done several classes with Wendy and have never been disappointed. She is innovative with her designs and so patient with her students. I am 73 and falling apart at the seams but still Wendy takes time to make sure I am comfortable and enjoying myself. Which I always do. These necklaces were a lot of fun to make, and will be fun to wear too. "

Sue Graham reviewed: Two day dry stone walling course for beginners in association with Dry Stone Walling Association of Great Britain

"Having signed up for our 2 day workshop with Lancashire DSWA, we were excited to learn this new skill. Everyone was so welcoming and from the moment we started, throughout the 2 days, there was always an expert there to give advice and encouragement, when it was needed. The tuition was excellent, and as we began the physical "hands on" stage, we were instructed on how to keep ourselves and others safe when lifting heavy stones and using the tools. We began the day by taking down the wall that needed repairing and learnt how to sort and lay out the stone. Next we learnt how to calculate the dimensions of the finished wall and set up a framework to guide us. We then laid the foundations and gradually, layer upon layer we built the wall back up. Everyone was so friendly, and the sense of acheivement we felt when we surveyed our finished wall was immense. We enrolled on this weekend to find out whether we could take on the challenge of rebuilding a dry stone wall that had fallen into disrepair, and with the encouragement and expert teaching we have received, it has given us the confidence to give it a go! Thankyou to all the experts in the Lancashire DSWA for making our weekend so enjoyable. "

Dry Stone Walling Association Lancashire Branch responded:

"Sue & Mal Thank you, so please you enjoyed it, and delight you have become members of your local branch. of the twelve that attended six have become members. All the best in your endeavours, in rebuilding your own wall Take Care Paul n Chris "

"Thoroughly enjoyable workshop. I was lucky enough to have 121 tuition with Emma who was warm and welcoming. And very knowledgeable. I made a fair few items which I can't wait to see fired and then have the opportunity to glaze. The location of the studio is great, right next to a cafe so ideal as the course finished at 1pm."

Pearl Drane reviewed: Sea Glass Jewellery Making with Nootka Sea Glass

"I came along to the course on the 13th March and met with a lovely group and thoroughly enjoyed it. Nicki created a really nice relaxed atmosphere whilst teaching the art of jewellery making. It was great to learn of the different/types of glass and their origins but also to actually have a go at drilling the glass and designing and producing a couple of items of jewellery to take home. I would definitely recommend the course and I am looking forward to beach combing along the Norfolk Coast which will give my sea walks a added interest now. "

The English Herbalist responded:

"Hi Pearl, Thank you so very much for your kindness, I really appreciate your love of the course. I look forward to seeing what you find on your beachcombing adventures if you'd like to share/connect with me on social media :-). Happy Easter!"

Hazel reviewed: Ceramic Garden Seed Head and flower Ornaments - Emma Godden Ceramics

"My friend and I had a wonderful day on this course. Emma is an excellent teacher and has devised a perfectly paced 1-day workshop. We all started by making the same item so that Emma could teach us the basic techniques, then we could choose what to make for our additional projects. There were several options to chose - or for the more adventurous you could make something of your own imagination. No skill is needed - everyone came away with some really excellent items. We have just picked ours up after firing and I can’t actually believe that I made them. They look amazing in our garden!"

Emma Godden Ceramics responded:

"Thank you for your kind words Hazel, I’m delighted that you’re so pleased with your finished pieces! The transformation that happens in the kiln as the glazes melt is always exciting! If you get a chance to send me a photo of your creations in your garden that would be fab, I always love to see them in their new home! "
