Divya Malhotra reviewed: A day of felt making: 2D and 3D Wet Felting with Purr & Wag It, Tabletop Workshops

"I had a wonderful day at Heather's wet felting workshop! I arrived with no knowledge of the technique but left with a good understanding of this fascinating technique and a 3D pot to show for it! What stood out most was Heather herself. She was friendly, welcoming, and warm. Her class was relaxed, with music playing in the background, and it was clear she genuinely wanted everyone to have fun and be creative. Heather didn't just show us "how" – she worked alongside us and took the time to explain "why" whenever it was relevant. She gently corrected us if we made mistakes, turning them into learning opportunities rather than something to be embarrassed about. The class was very interactive and engaging. I was amazed at how much I learned in a single day, going from a complete beginner to creating 2D felt art and even a 3D object. Heather generously provided all the materials, and the range of colours was fantastic. She didn't hold back on the supplies, either. I highly recommend the full-day class for anyone new to wet felting. Understanding the 2D technique is very helpful before moving on to 3D, though 3D is probably doable even if you're starting from scratch. Thank you, Heather, for an unforgettable experience! I can't wait to come back for another workshop."

Purr & Wag It, Tabletop Workshops: wet felting responded:

"Divya, I'm delighted you enjoyed the workshop so much. It was very much my pleasure. I hope to see you at another. All best Heather"

Gemma Holliday-Smith reviewed: Ecoprinted Lampshades

"Thank you Fiona for such a wonderful day eco printing. It has nourished my soul. You prepared so much in advance so that we could all achieve and achieved we all did, the results were all individual and beautiful. As a Forest School teacher I've done a simple 'hapa-zome' technique but the colours do not stay on the fabric without a mordant so I'm going to have a go at this - thank you so much for your notes - invaluable. I'm looking forward to doing more eco prints myself ... leaf hunting here I come!!"

Mike Duff reviewed: Make your own shavehorse with Gedwood

"I recently attended the shave horse course, it was as described, great tuition by a very knowledgeable tutor who has a great affinity to the green woods being worked and the traditional tools being used. Other than going home with a hand made shave horse the other 3 aims I wanted to achieve was to work with green wood - achieved - work with wood without using a tape measure - achieved - work with traditional tools - achieved. Myself, the other attendee & Ged had a lot of chat and laughs during the well organised relaxed atmosphere of the 2 days of tuition. I would recommend this course - for anyone wanting a tutored introduction to green wood working, techniques, tools and wood characteristics - and you go home with your own great shave horse ! Thank you Ged."

Gedwood responded:

"Hi Mike, Many thanks for your kind words. Glad you enjoyed the experience. Happy shaving days ahead! 😊"
