"We thoroughly enjoyed this course. We started by choosing a log from which to make the legs for our stool and worked with a variety of hand tools to fashion the wood to the required size and shape. This was hard work at times. Having no previous knowledge of woodwork we are very proud of our finished items. Our course leader, John , taught us well and was helpful and friendly. Stanwick Lakes is lovely, staffed by great people who went out of their way to ensure we were happy."

"Highly recommended. Matt and Emma were very welcoming from the start with a warm cuppa and introductions. Matt is clearly knowledgeable about woodland conservation and experienced in teaching wood crafts. The course was run in their own woodland, Matt ran the course at a pace that suited all and my 15 year old lad thoroughly enjoyed the day. We left having learnt new skills, whilst making / creating a wooden mallet and spatula. He has already asked about attending the long bow course. Would highly recommend Matt and Emma’s courses to anyone. Lovely, friendly, engaging and attentive people. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience and peaceful surroundings."

"Had a full day mosaic course with Laura. It was a great experience and I learned so much, Laura is a great teacher. I managed to do a parrot on slate based on a sketch I brought with me, it turned out brilliantly with lots of bright colours which Laura kindly advised which ones to use. I can highly recommend anyone to do the course, Laura explains it all very easily and guides you through it step by step. I had a fantastic day"

"Thoroughly enjoyed making our Willow Baskets yesterday. John & Becky were brilliant! Very knowledgable and gave great 1-to-1 tuition on the difficult bits. Both my husband and I have problems with our hands because of Arthritis and were not sure if we would be able to achieve our basket making aims. No fears there! With the expert tuition and care we managed to produce a respectable “first” time effort. Would definitely recommend taking this course to all. The lunch provided by their friend & Caterer looked very lush, not to mention the dessert Apricot Tart, too. Wished our special dietary requirements allowed us to partake in the lunch, it all looked delicious! "

"This was a most fabulous day. I have never done a mosaic before and didn’t really know what I wanted to do. Ann was tremendously supportive and helpful. I chose to do a bee. There were lots of different choices of what to use as a base and she helped me choose the best one for me. The day went very quickly. We ate our packed lunch out in the beautiful garden and there was tea and coffee on offer all day, cream scones and muffins also during the day. Anna's expertise was apparent and she was enormously supportive throughout our time there. "

"Great tutor, personable and knowledgeable. More strenuous on the first day than we anticipated! Lots of chopping wood with an axe and draw blading! A great workout. Stools definitely rustic, but good, very robust. "
