"We thoroughly enjoyed our day with tutor Matt Boyson on the 'Confidence with tools' course. We learnt how to operate a drill, a saw, and sealant gun, and had hands on practice with all three. Matt is a friendly/easy going guy, with an abundance of knowledge, and was extremely patient. We highly recommend this course, and would like to pass on our thanks to Matt for a great day."

Anil Sahal reviewed: Blacksmithing course - spend a day in the forge

"A fantastic course, led by a very patient and generous teacher (Richard Bent). He gave clear instructions, demonstrated the use of various tools from hand hammers, tong, gas and induction forges and power hammers. We were led through the process of making a couple of easy projects, how to draw out and round rectangular sectioned bars. Richard was a delightful, down-to earth person to chat with during our breaks, replete with knowledge and anecdotes and we all felt safe under his watchful eye. He made this experience absolutely brilliant!"

Red Anvil School of Blacksmithing responded:

"It was a pleasure to meet you Anil, and really pleased you enjoyed your day. Thank you for your review. Kind regards Richard "

Shirley Green reviewed: Basket making for beginners using traditional willow basketry techniques

"A fabulous workshop for beginners with no experience. My niece and I made large baskets with patient guidance of Jon. We didn't think we'd get it finished as we were slow on the base of the baskets but once onto the side it was a lot quicker and could see our progress. I would definitely recommend this course, once we had done the course we would be able to do another more advance item. Coffee, tea and flapjacks were provided throughout the day, we paid £7 for a hot lunch which was a pot pie choice of mushroom, spinach and lentil of cauliflower cheese fillings along with a selection of hot vegetables followed by an apple, blackberry and blackcurrant crumble pie all delicious."

Karen reviewed: Stained glass weekly classes in Sheffield (South Yorkshire)

"Just finished my 5th term and thoroughly enjoying every class. Martin is a very approachable teacher - checking in with everybody throughout the class to make sure we are not going off track! He is always happy to answer questions and help/advise as needed. It’s great to be able to make our own designs in either stained glass or tiffany glass - and seeing what everyone else is doing is inspirational. The studio is always well stocked with wonderful glass to purchase. Thanks Martin - looking forward to next term already!"

"So glad you are enjoying the course, thank you for the great review."

Tracy Hewitt reviewed: Willow Christmas stars workshop near Tewkesbury with Dovecote Willow

"The workshop was great fun! A small group so not noisy or overwhelming, tea available to help yourself to when you wanted to. Vicky was incredibly welcoming and also very patient and helpful to us willow weaving novices. Three hours was enough time (with a lot of help from Vicky) to make a large star, a reindeer and a mini Christmas tree, so very satisfying to turn up at home with all of my goodies. Thank you for a wonderful morning Vicky. "

Dovecote Willow responded:

"Thank you so much Tracy, I’m so pleased that you enjoyed the session! Best wishes Vicky "

Karen reviewed: Fused glass Christmas decorations (1 day) in Sheffield, South Yorkshire

"A really enjoyable day! Martin is a great teacher and adapts his teaching to people’s experience. For those like myself with experience of working with glass, Martin was happy to allow us to create our own designs and advised as and when needed. For those with little or no experience he performed demonstrations and provided step by step clear guidance. Lots of lovely glass and bits and pieces to choose from to decorate with. Everyone, however experienced, made lots of decorations and had a really great day. Thanks Martin - will be booking on some more courses for sure!"

Martin McAssey Glass responded:

"Thank you for the lovely review, I'm really glad you enjoyed the day."

C Hewitt reviewed: Christmas fused glass lantern making with Chan Foy

"I really enjoyed this course. Chan is a great teacher. She is very patient and explains things in a way that is easy to understand. She has created a warm, friendly, creative space, and I would happily attend another one of her courses. There was a huge variety of glass colours and shapes and frits to use. We were also taught how to score and break glass safely. I was very pleased with the beautiful Christmas lantern I made."

Jane Lund reviewed: Yorkshire Rose stone carving class

"Loved the carving course, Helen was kind and patient as I hacked my way through a nice piece of sandstone, helping me position the chisels and showing me time and again how to hold them - it's a bit like learning to use a pencil for the first time and I won't pretend it's easy but it is really enjoyable and I'm going to carry on in the hope that one day I'll be able to produce something decent."

The West Riding Stonecarving Association responded:

"Thank you for your great review. I hope to see you again Jane."
