Hello & Welcome I'm Sharon, an experienced ceramic artist who alongside a small staff team runs fun & informal pottery sessions for those aged 16 years & over. This Hand Building Taster Class is a great introduction to the fabulous world of clay hand building. it's a great all rounder class that will suit the needs of many. It's fab for day's out, a new hobby, get togethers & those that have always wanted a go. You'll begin by looking around the studio at out huge variety of examples, choosing which item you'd like to make. We have Mugs, Jugs Planters, Vases, Cottages, Fairy Houses, Gnomes, Tealights, Beach huts Animal sculptures: Highland cows, foxes, hares, whales or elephants to name but a few! We show you step by step how to prepare, shape & assemble the clay, using the building method that's the best fit for your chosen item. The class runs every day except Sundays & Mondays & can be attended by up to 5 persons - Note all persons of your group need to make the same item due to the step by step nature of the class (you will be able to add unique finishing touches- to make yours different) The class includes bisque firing ready for painting with acrylics at home OR you may wish to return to the studio to glaze your creation. This is an optional extra, £15pp. The Crafty Potter studio is based within Heskin shopping Village, a unique retail and leisure destination featuring over 40 unique shops and businesses, With free parking we’re a perfect destination for you to make a great fun day out.
