Hello & welcome to The Crafty Potter. I'm Sharon, an experienced ceramic artist who, alongside a small staff team, runs fun & informal pottery sessions for those aged 18 years & over. This 4-week throwing course is great for those wanting to learn how to throw pottery on the potters wheel. You may be an absolute beginner or wanting to refresh your skills. Each week we will guide you through the basic knowledge of throwing pots. You will learn how to centre, open up & pull your clay walls. The course will be guided by your pace of learning, whilst exploring a different skill set each week. We explore throwing tools, different forms, lidded pots along with altered forms. During each session there is time to self practice the skills. There is a maximum of 2 students with 1 tutor on this course, ensuring that you have hands on & verbal support throughout the course. The course is designed to practice form appose to making lots of pots. Clay & the firing of your two favourite pots from each session is included in the price. Unfortunately once booked, missed sessions cant be refunded or rescheduled, so please ensure that you can attend all the sessions before booking. The class runs Tuesdays & Fridays 10am-12pm every week and can be attended by adults from 18 years. You are welcome to take home any additional pots made during the course OR you can have any additional pots fired at a cost of £3 per pot. You then have the option of returning to the studio for a glaze session from £15pp. The Crafty Potter studio is based within Heskin shopping Village, a unique retail and leisure destination featuring over 40 unique shops and businesses, With free parking we’re a perfect destination for you to make a great fun day out.
