Introduction to woodworking & carpentry. Are you eager to learn the fundamentals of woodworking and carpentry? This one-day, hands-on course, which is held in a bright and airy workshop set in the beautiful Essex countryside, is designed for complete beginners with little to no prior experience. Learn essential skills, gain confidence in handling tools, and complete a small project to take home! What you'll learn: Tool Familiarisation: Get to know essential hand tools (saws, planes, chisels, etc) and power tools (drills, sanders) and understand their safe operation. Wood Basics: Explore different types of wood, their properties, and how to select the right wood for your project. Basic Techniques: Master fundamental techniques such as measuring, marking, cutting, joining, and finishing. Project Completion: Apply your new skills to create a small woodworking project from start to finish. By the end of this course, you will: - Understand basic woodworking tools and their safe usage. - Be able to select appropriate wood for simple projects. - Confidently perform basic woodworking techniques. - Have completed a small, finished project to take home. All materials and tools are provided. Just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to learn! You are also welcome to bring your own tools to learn with.
